All this sounds quite fun. Unfortunately, my Mac has bitten the dust, and I now have a Windows XP machine. I've made quite a few plugs for EV/o but never for NOVA. I have yet to get a working emulator, but I've already planned out a small plug. It's not a big thing, but it requires some color changes. As I said, I have yet to get a working emulator, so I can't deRLE the things I want to change. If it's not too much trouble, I'd appreciate all the parts of the Fed Destroyer, (save the masks, which I won't be needing till later), to tinker around with in photoshop 7. That would be the spin and shipyard pic plus engine and weapons glows.

Chrononaut: You could have all the emulators in the world, and as far as i know, none of them will run deRLE or enRLE. I havnt seen any released emus that emulater PPC proc.
I could get you de-rle'd sprites, though. email or AIM me for which ones you want.

i agree.... about both comments.

but i am not able to do any base coloring, or light color(if that one is possable). BUT, i am still learning. its not quite as simple as doing a glow. i have not tried de-rle'ing a Ship light yet, but i did a bit of expirementing with the base. still beyond my comprehension. butthat will change.

however, i don't think i'll trry giving my "Dark Arachnid" any images except the target picture i changeed to look like it does not have light. yup, red glows, no lights, and a default base i'm still trying to change. would be easy, if it was not so incredably hard and time consuming to do a little bit. i never realized how many shades of pink and purple they used just to make the Arachnid bridge.

Gay IDA? Hmmm, never thought of it, but now that you mention it... lol.... Propably woulnt due to fly something like that through Auroran space - the Aurorans dont come off as tolerant or accepting :p. Some of my other friends and I thought the many-colored IDA looked more like the LSD Hauler variant (outfitted with trip hammers, of course).

In any case, the reason i used such garish colors was that the high contrast makes it easy to see where colored pixels should be added or removed. The crazy IDA will never make it into my plug.

As an up-and-coming ship designer, i have but a single question. (at the moment, at least). When I DeRLE my ship, the resulting files are .res8 and .res16. How do I make it so the pictures these files contain can be remotely usable? I'm so confused.

AARRRGGG!!! making the purple parts of the Arachnid be red, is very hard. i've spent all day trying to get it, and still nothing. while one of the times, i had it. don't know how, but i did. problem was, i did not realalize it untill i had changed it to much to have step back work. bleh. doing glows is simple. doing the certain parts of ships is hard. i envy you AAC.

ok, i just now fianly manged to figure out the NOT at all difficult task of changing the magneta color of the Arachnid to red.

1. i went to the Image file: Adjustments: Replace Color. Increased fuzzness to full 200. Saturation to full, lightness down about about 10-15(depending on how dark you want to color to be. then i just changed the hue to what ever color i like. no erasing, coping(except for from the res file, to appleworks into a photoshop file).

easy. but i'll bet its much hard to do multipule colors. like Azradax2 said. the Arachnid only has like one basic color. Magneta(unsure of spelling at the monent(and i don't care ))

i'll post the pics, or at least try to, later, once i've fully tested in out.

PigDog: Open the file (the 16 one) in resedit and copy/paste the picts into an editor. Edit, make pict resource, then resedit to take the pict out of the pict resource you made wit hthe editor, and put it place of where you got it and run enrle on it.
