    • Dominating new spöbs

I seem to have run into a problem whereby spöbs in a new plug, using an old pilot, can be instantly dominated, without having to fight the defence fleet. My theory is that each pilot file keeps a record of the number of ships remaining in each planetary defence fleet. When a plug with a new spöb is introduced, their will be no record of a defence fleet in the pilot file so EVN will assume that all ships have been destroyed and the planet is ripe for conquest.

Can anyone confirm/deny my theory, or suggest a workaround? If there was a set expression for releasing a planet, I could work round it using a mission. Or if destroying a stellar releases it, I could work that way.

I tried using search, but there don't seem to have been any posts on this before.

    • I take it no-one else has come across this problem then?

I haven't, but here's a suggestion: Dominate the planet , then release it, then try to dominate it again.

    • I know I could do that, but I don't want other people to have to do that with every planet they intend to dominate in my plug. Or leave cheaters the temptation to just grab the planet :^)

Oh, right. And what's that at the end of your post? Pinnochio the smiley?

    • It's the smiley I used for years on newsgroups before I ever went near a web board with graphical smileys. I still prefer the old text way of doing it. Maybe I'm just stuck in the past.

No, it's just that it has a huge nose, unlike this guy :-), which is what I usually see.
