I called them Damned Kobolds because that was the adjective that was used to describe them in the mission text and in the conversation that started the mission :).

    • Ok... here's some info:

Dark Spirits: HP: 135; XP: 1500
      Ice Elemental: XP: 1000
      Archmage: XP: 500

You also might want to add on that you can only gain the 10 hp at the Pink Termite resort once... Some people (like myself  ) might try to repeat the process several times...

DeathKnight: The unholy crusader of the undead legions. The DeathKnight carries a fiery red sword and isn't afraid to use it. Since he is an undead normal armor will not protect you against his advances. Stock up on undead protection else be loaded with healing potions.

This is missing a comma in the third sentence. It needs to go after the word undead. Just wanted to help Posted Image

Thanks. I'll include your info and corrections in the next version that I upload. I have a bunch of new information to format and stick into the document, plus work just got more intense, so will be a few days probably before I upload another version. But I wanted to drop a quick note saying thank you for the input.

Those pictures are not on the CD for exporting to other games. If you would like to use them in a POG plug-in however, they are available. You will need to create a new NPC and then when you select a picture for it you can browse through the npc tile sets and the guardian is listed(as is the sea giant). You can select their pictures and use them with your npc for a POG plug-in. If you want to use their pictures for a stand-alone game then you will need to again create the npc, and then take screen shots for every movement sprite and then edit them to put them together -- something I personally do not think is worth the time to do(ie, if you can do that, you should be able to draw your own).

The Order of the Crystal I believe you are referring to the temple picture? That is also in the plug-in infos tile sets. I believe it is under one of the "Quests" tile sections. I can look later today and get back to you on that. And again I don't think it is on the cd, it is only available for a plug-in add-on.

I asked Dee(designer of CGE and POG) why this was, and he said that the reason behind this is that Beenox wanted some games to have originality. POG wouldn't be original if every game sported the same big baddies such as the guardian and sea giant. So they deliberately left them off the cd so you can't easily export them to other games. But when you design a plug-in all those pics of the npcs and tiles are saved into a data file and are useable for within the plug-in. So you can create more guardians if you wish, or more temples from the Order of the Crystal, etc.

      Hope that helps clarify.

Newest update uploaded. Next update will include the skeleton for the trinity plug-in as well as some trinity information. Also hopefully more npc information(XP and hps) will be added as well.

The main addition to this update was the revision of all the npc descriptions. I received a file of "npc information" from Beenox to revise and include in the compendium, which I have done. I would highly recommend aspiring plug-in designers to read through the bestiary as it could give you a lot of ideas for plot lines and stories. Some names, histories, origins, etc in it.

I've also put some other updates in it. The (albeit long) list from my additions page record the following changes to this update:

      Added:
      To NPC list:
      Ghoul

      Kobold
      Kobold - Demonic

    • Wow- several of the additions to the Bestiary I dont even recognize(for example the "master" versions)...and I make a point of exploring and killing all the beasts on each map section. Are these even in PoG or Trinity? Or were they added for plug designers? If they are in PoG...where?

Tell me, why do you wear a mask?
Oh, its just that they're terribly comfortable, I think that everybody will be wearing them in the future.

    • MickyBIs: I don't recall. I am fairly sure the master ghouls are in the game somewhere. I vaguely remember seeing them at some point. Master semenons are the same way. I think they are in the game but I don't recall vividly. White minotaurs are the only npc in the least that I am fairly sure are not anywhere in the standard game of POG. I could be wrong on this though. 🙂

New update uploaded, contains basic information on the Trinity plug-in. I will put in additional information(breakdown of all the spells and alchemy recipes) as well as new shops and info on the travelling salesmen next.

Also anyone who has completed the Sapphire plug-in and wishes to write up some info to be included into the compendium, I would appreciate it(since I haven't had the time to try it yet). Or if the author would like to do it that would be extra fine. Drop me an email(address is in the email button above) if anyone is interested in this.

There is only one white minotaur and it can be found with Trinity installed (there isn't any in the standard game). The ranger can also shapeshift in white minotaur.

well, this is all I have

    • Another version uploaded. This one contains more plug-in information on the Conjuror class for Trinity, and for the Sapphire plug-in.

Btw, all information for both of those additions was gleaned 100% from this board. I have not played either the conjuror nor the sapphire plug-in yet, so I can not verify the accuracy of the information I have uploaded.

For those who have played the conjuror or have the sapphire plug-in and played it, can you verify the information listed? And if you have played Sapphire I would especially like to "fill in the blanks," so to speak. The information is not complete.

      Thanks.

A better way is to ask the author of a plug-in for information on it.

Hello Dakota, glad to hear you found POG and have registered it. It is always good to have new people around.

Alright, the tunnels are nothing more than a quick way to move around the kingdom of Garendall. What you need to do is find a tunnel entrance and then enter it. Doing this will clear any obstructions within it and make it useable. When you enter a tunnel entrance you will be shown a tunnel map with little circular "knobs" on the map. If a knob has a name above it(the one by Fantrima should say "Fantrima") then you can click on the knob and instantly be transported there. But only tunnels that you have found and entered at least once will show up on that map, and hence be useable. Make sense?

And I should definitely throw this information onto the walkthrough/compendium. Dunno how I missed that... heh.

Thanks. Let me know if the above wasn't clear enough and I'll try to explain it better.

I know you were referring to plug-ins, but I can fill some gaps in the standard PoG.
      Bestiary: Azarath - Hps = 120, Cyclops - Hps = 100, Earth Elemental - Hps = 100, Ghoul - Hps = 60 XP = 90, Guardian - Hps = 2500 XP = 5000 (also drops 2000 gold, but as you know, the money and experience points are useless now), Ice Elemental - Hps = 125, Lilith - Hps = 75 XP = 1000, Bonus Lilith (see note below) - Hps = 75 XP = 600, Medusa - Hps = 100 XP = 800, Mindhunter - Hps = 70 XP = 650 (not 600 as listed), Minotaur - Hps = 135 XP = 1500, Rogue Archmage - Hps = 55, Blue Spider (see note below) - Hps = 65 XP = 95, Semenon - Hps = 40 XP = 45, Stone Giant - Hps = 80 XP = 120. I cannot get the Hps for the Dark Fairy unless I start a new game so that will have to wait.
I cannot find the following beasts in the standard version of PoG. If anyone can tell me where to look, I'll be happy to obtain their stats: Ghoul - Master, Ice Imp, Minotaur - White, & Semenon - Master.
In the SE sector of Reef's Is. the Liliths have a rock shrine. If you enter this enclosure and poke around, six bonus Liliths come to get you. These Liliths are not on the screen before you invade their sacred territory. In fact, their existence does not preclude using Gen. Decimus' tent (as undetected creatures would on other screens) until their "tripwire" is snagged. Perhaps this little occurance deserves a spot in the "Secrets of POG" section.
Spider confusion: Mayor Vortek has posted a sign by the cave 1 N of Fantrima which identifies the blue spiders therein as "Mole Spiders." You have the blue ones labeled "Rocky Spiders." I don't recall seeing any red spiders underground. It makes sense to me if the red guys are Rocky Spiders and the blue ones are Mole Spiders. A minor point, perhaps, but I think the labels are reversed.
One final note. I would love to go back and fight that awful lady in the Great Swamp crypt again to find out her stats because she was a real bitch! She must have killed me ten times before I had the strength or stamina to prevail.

PS: I just found this in earlier notes - Great Swamp lady is Nehria - Hps = ? XP = 1000.

Thank you, straytoaster, but I'm not sure Mr. Bledfast is grateful. He seems to be ignoring my post. Perhaps I have in some way offended him without any intention of doing so.

In any event, here is one more piece for the puzzle: If you decline to buy back the book stolen by Mesera's brother, the six bandits provide 30 experience points each and Mesera's brother gives you 60 points. But more importantly, Mesera himself has these stats - - Hps = 100 and XP = 200. The six padres in his cave are garden variety blue robed thieves (Hps: 20, XP: 17). 😄

      Mr. Ducky,

Naw, you didn't offend me, nor am I ungrateful for your help. I've been busy to the point of insanity at work and haven't had time to work on the compendium for a while(hence why it hasn't changed in a while). Don't be dismayed though, I have your information captured and when I have the time it will get into the compendium. I do appreciate your efforts, and the efforts of all those who have sent me information for it.

I appologize for not responding to your post, which you felt was an indication of my ignoring you. It wasn't meant that way. I do appreciate your efforts.

      Thank you.

    • Heh, ok, so over a month since the guide has been updated. I've been bogged down and extremelly busy in real life though.

Anyhow I have posted a new version of the guide. It is still located (url="http://"http://www.avalon.net/~honda/pog/pogwalkthrough2a.htm")here(/url), though keep your eyes peeled as the address will change in the near future, and the Compendium will be hosted by a new site with an altered look. Woo woo!

      From my revisions log:

      Added:
      To the Bestiary -
      Azarath - Hps = 120
      Cyclops - Hps = 100
      Earth Elemental - Hps = 100
      Ghoul - Hps = 60 XP = 90
      Guardian - Hps = 2500 XP = 5000
      Ice Elemental - Hps = 125
      Lilith - Hps = 75 XP = 1000
      Medusa - Hps = 100 XP = 800
      Minotaur - Hps = 135 XP = 1500
      Rogue Archmage - Hps = 55
      Blue Spider - Hps = 65 XP = 95
      Semenon - Hps = 40 XP = 45
      Stone Giant - Hps = 80 XP = 120

      To Secrets - Lilith Shrine

Changes: Moved the Mages section in the bestiary into alphabetical order with the rest of the bestiary.

      Fixed: Mindhunter - Hps = 70 XP = 650 (not 600 as listed)

Notes: I have done nothing on the "special" monsters, ie. Mesera and his brother, Nehrina, etc. I plan on making a section, as per request, of "special people" of POG, and will list them there.
