    • POG Compendium walkthrough

I thought I saw waaay back someone posting about making a walkthrough for POG, but I
haven't seen one and didn't see any in the add-on section. And after answering the same
questions more times than I care to count(and numerous others as well, heh), I decided
to throw together a very quick walkthrough web page which, when finished, I'll upload
to the add-ons page as a downloadable document.

Anyhow, reason I'm posting this is to get some feedback on it. If you've finished the
game would you take a look at it for accuracy? If you are stuck somewhere would you
give it a look and see if it will help you?

I realize that it isn't finished yet, so please don't post "xxx section isn't written
yet." I know that, heh. However I would like feedback on what is up, ie, does it make sense? Is it organized in a manner that is easy to follow? Are the directions easy to
read and understand? Any spelling mistakes? Is there anything not listed in the table of
contents that you think would be a nice addition to the walkthrough?

The more input I get the better it can be(and of course, the more work can be siphoned
into it, heh). If you see an unwritten section(which currently there are a lot of) and
would like to write up directions for it(missions especially), please let me know either
here or in my email and I'll give credits on the page.

Well, thats long enough. 🙂 Though I should probably give out the address...
      (url="http://"http://www.avalon.net/~honda/pog/pogwalkthrough.htm")http://www.avalon.ne...walkthrough.htm(/url)

Oh, and in a similar vein as the above, I know it is plain and not decorated at all(ie:
ugly). This was a 20 minute write-up to give an idea of what I would like to do. The
finished product will be much "purtier".

      Thanks

    • Updated the walkthrough with a bunch of locations.

    • Wow, great work! Keep it coming.

    • Great work! Just one thing you should add, though. You explained fully how to get to the guardian, but not how to defeat him. I saw in another post someone that got to the guardian fighting with a long bow. Naturally, this was not enough, so people should be able to judge when they're ready. Just add a few tips on how to kill the guardian (for example, have tons of potions, don't run away or you'll get fried by the lightning, etc etc).

    • Updated again. All sections are now completed(for the walkthroughs) with the exception
of the divine lamp quest(forgot the specifics of it. I'll run my char through it tonight
or tomorrow and finish that section then).

Also added a new section, "Secrets" and put in the blue mushroom and how to awaken the
      nature spirit.

Zortium - Yeah, I can certainly add some tips to fighting the guardian. I also plan
on writing some headers to the different quests to explain what they are, what you
get by completing them, and what their importance on the world in general are. So far
this hasn't been done, but almost all the info is on it!

So again I'll ask, anyone want to see anything else listed on it? I plan on making it
pretty in the next day or two and if no one else has suggestions I'll just upload it to
      the add-on site for download.

Once again, the current compendium can be found at: (url="http://"http://www.avalon.net/~honda/pog/pogwalkthrough.htm")http://www.avalon.ne...walkthrough.htm(/url)

Thanks. I put in a place marker for it. Will add the description for it tomorrow.

      Forgot about that. Anything else?

      Titan Ring:
The cave in the northern part of Cyclops Coast always was a chest that will yeld a Ring of Titan. Yet it will only show up though if you don't have one already on your person or inventory. It will say that you take the ring from the chest, but if you already have one, it won't add another to your inventory.

      Unicorn Ring
In a rockimp and goul cave one west and one north of the bridge across the Tearos River should have a chest that always holds a Ring of Unicorn.

    • I really like your site it helped me a lot. I agree with whoever posted that you need tips for the Guardian. I used your site to get to the Guardian but it still took me 3 hours to kill him. :frown: Very nice work but check the spelling on Septeremis. I might be wrong though.

      ------------------
Once upon a time. The End.

    • You could mention the items you can only get by killing a Creature ie The Ring of the Gods, The Ogre Axe, Lilith Sheild (or can you buy this?) Minotar Scythe, any others?

as for making it purrty, Utilitarian is cool (I like it how it is)

anyways good work, AAC otta give you a heap o' karma, this will hopeful answer alot of the Questions posted here

The iMac with the shiny Chrome finish.

    • Alrighty, I added the Pink Termite resort secret, plus the 2 rings. I added in
explanation texts to introduce each of the sections(learning tree quest, knight quest,
etc). I added in links to ambrosia and beenox and copyright info.

I made a jazzed up version and a plain version(since Straytoaster seemed to like the
plain jane version better) and posted both on my website. I wrote up a readme file
(hahahaha, like anyone ever reads these) as well.

The "jazzed" version is at: (url="http://"http://www.avalon.net/~honda/pog/pogwalkthrough.htm")http://www.avalon.ne...walkthrough.htm(/url)
      The "plain" version is: (url="http://"http://www.avalon.net/~honda/pog/pogwalkthroughplain.htm")http://www.avalon.ne...hroughplain.htm(/url)

In my mind there are only 2 things I'm currently missing for version 1: write up
the divine lamp, and get Ambrosia's permission to use the graphic I shamelessly ripped
off from their website and use on the front of the walkthrough(so any ambrosia people
who read this, can ya drop me an email and say, "Sure, use it" or "Please remove the
picture before you upload this to our servers" I would appreciate it).

Also if anyone has any last minute ideas of things to add that would be dandy. I already
plan to work on a 1.1 version that includes information on plug-ins(Trinity and Sapphire
come to mind). So any major suggestions would go into that version.

Anyhow please look it over before I upload it. If I don't hear of anything I'll most
likely upload it either late today or tomorrow.

(edit) Added URL's to both of the walkthroughs. Can't believe I forgot that, heh. (/edit)

    • Whoa! What a graphic improvment! Also it's cool that you can actually awaken the nature spirit. Someone asked in a post a way back and the answer was it's an open end. I was wondering what that "smiley" was for anyways...

    • Really minor error in walkthrough: In the confronting the guardian tips, you said that the 300 point potions give 150 per tick. Actually, its 100.

    • Its not a bonus of strength you get at the pink termite resort, its a added 10 life points to your total health.

I don't want any errors, heh. Thanks for pointing that out. It has been corrected.

    • Added to Where is list:
I don't see Wyrm Vally tunnel listed.

      and added to secrets:
once you locate and open all tunnels, talk to the man southeast of the town fountain in fantrima, and he will give you 500 gold.

      Miscellaneous items:
Elven bow of destruction isn't listed

Yeah, I had an internal link to the Wyrm Valley tunnel entrance, but never made an
      entry for it, heh. Fixed.

Ok, this was funny. I noticed this myself and had finished writing up the description
when you posted that it was missing. I can't believe I didn't see it earlier(and that
no one else pointed it out either). Thats like my favorite weapon too(pre-trinity..
well, it is still the "coolest" weapon in my opinion, even post-trinity. Just that
its damage rating isn't all that great anymore).

      Added.

Anything else? Keep 'em coming if I'm missing more or if something needs fixing.

      Interesting. The homepage looks OK.
Might be helpful if the links worked.

Huh, that's interesting. They work just fine on my pc at work, but at home on my mac
      they also don't work. Hmmmm.
