    • A Problem with Windows....beyond the obvious ones,,,

      Seriously, though. While testing our new plug in Spehil Saga on Win EVN, i have found that the game will crash early and often...and every time. It is always while flying around, not while landed or jumping.

      Addtionally, the "Purchase" buttoms do not appear.

      Any ideas?

      It was created on a Mac, my mac, and runs totally glitch free, except for the purchase button not appearing at times. The weird part about that is that you can click where the button should be, and still buy stuff. Odd, no? But the random crashes while you are flying around seems to be a windows thing.

      Other info: it's a data-file replacement TC. If you need anything more, post and I'll get you that info asap. I don't have a windows machine, and Cap'n Hector and I are in separate parts of the country, so there's not much I can do.

      The game works fine with the EVO and EV plug-ins, so i dont think its a data replacement problem...

      but it crashes without fail...with ships appearing on screen and without. Sometimes it will take a minute or two, sometimes 5 seconds.

      This has happened to me before (the purchase button part) did you try clicking the spot where the button should be.

      Im saving up to get a laptop...till then, ill have to deal with my G2.5 Powerbook, and my Desktop of Evil...

      Bu nobody has any ideas on the crashing?

      There is nothing wrong with Microsoft's products. It's always the user. I run this game ferfectly fine. You must have programmed the plug-in wrong or something.

      Um, like I said, Jack, the plug is rock solid on every Macintosh we've tested it on. It is only a problem on Windows. Read the thread.

      I'm pretty sure the purchase button not showing up is some obscure bug, probably related to the fact that some of the outfits have very complex Availability calculations (NCBs plus Increase Maximum outfits, plus weapon MaxAmmo in one case). The strangest part of the problem, at least on my machine, is that it appears for some outfits, disappears for others, and yet the functionality is always there- click where it should be, and it works fine.

      Matt, pipeline, any clues?

      Oh, and just for my information, is there anybody around from the port team? Who?
