Hi everyone, How's the EV Nova Window's port working out? Just asking because my friend runs it on a windows and I want a general idea on how it's working. Now, on to my question. I have been developing my own practice plug in a way. I know how to edit the nova file copies and then copy the rescources into a new ResEdit document. Now, I just want to know, how do I get my new file from the smiley ResEdit thingy to a real Nova plugin? Any help would be greatly apprecieated.

What you'll need to do is find a plugin template (I believe there are some available for download on the Add-ons page, or you could use the one in the tutorial "TutorialsInS"), and copy your files into the file containing those templates. I think the engine will then read them. Alternatively, you might find it easier to create a new plugin with Mission Computer and copy them there, after opening your source in the same program.

You could of course just get info of your resource file (File > Get Info on ___) and change the creator and type codes.

Note that In ResEdit that will work, but not in the Finder. (Unless I am really missing something here )

It works Arios, thats what I've done for Factions, all the files were made created and edited in Res-Edit (with occasional tweaks in MC and EVONE).
I don't know what your missing but it must be big.

What system does it work in? In 10.2.6 the Get Info window in the Finder does not allow you to set type and creator codes, it only lets you set the Open With app. I know it works in ResEdit's Get Info window, but I do not believe it is possible in the Finder's.

In the Finder, the menu item is "Get Info," whereas in ResEdit it's "Get Info on <filename>." Sorry for the confusion.

My solution to my problem was to just download mission comp. X. It was so much eaiser than doing the other stuff. Now I just have to become a better Plugin programmer
