Here's a new one.
Recently, I've noticed that at a certain point, loading a s˙st (i.e. leaving the planet window, jumping from system to system) has suddenly and inexplicably ground to a crawl -- where before it took a negligible time to load up a s˙st, now I sit and wait a full twenty seconds or so before it's done loading.
I have a number of crön-related ship activations. Since this event seems to only occur after the activation of a certain number of ncbs that control ship AppearOn fields (the only thing that I can imagine would affect s˙st load time), I should be able, through trial and error, to determine which ncb appears to be slowing things down.
What I want to know is, why would this happen? If it's what I think it is, the ship in question is a small, insignificant shuttle (the Vulcan warp shuttle from Star Trek: the Motion Picture).
Has anyone else working on TCs experienced this? Why would activating a ship cause system loading time to slow to a crawl?
I'm not sure if this problem was caused by 1.0.6 -- I had an error in my cröns that occasionally prevented the ncbs from activating, which meant that sometimes the ships that may be causing this wouldn't activate, so this could be a problem going as far back as 1.0.3 and I just never noticed it. Still, it seems rather odd and very, very frustrating.
(edit) Just spoke with one of my alpha testers, who confirmed that he'd experienced one such slow-down that took a whole 2 minutes before it finished loading the system. This is unacceptible. Any ideas on what's going on? (/edit)
