    • is this weapon possible?

Hey, I had an idea for an outfit (I was originally planing it to be a cheat plug) that is a super power cell that does apsoulutly nothing execpt set say "b1" on buy. Then I set all that other outfits that I want to be able to fire with cloak, and make them exactly like the original weapons execpt that they fire while cloaked (flag "0400"?) and there aavalible test= b1. Therefore when you buy the cell, it sets b1, and all the weapons override the original weapons so that they fire while cloaked.
I would need to reset the claoking devices expecilly the polaris one so that they use more energy and stuff. I was wondering if it was possible?
And what outfits should be able to fire while cloaked, everythig or just the civilian stuff?
And if this works, could someone make me a graphic?

    • Just because the Fire-while-cloaked weapons outfs become "available" when that bit is set, they don't automatically replace your normal weapons. However, you could have individual outfs with Oxxx tags in the AvailBits that would do this (i.e. "Medium Laser Cloak Power Cell") by Dxxx (deleting) the laser and replacing it. Then each power cell you buy would steal one laser, until they were all gone. Only problem is that the number of Medium Lasers on you ship would go down, which wouldn't be quite the right behavior.

    • You need to use iterative-entry SUPER CRONS! Actually, one for each type of weapon you want to replace. First, I'd recommend using the require and contribute bits for the cell itself, and to activate the crons. You only need one. Next, in the EnableOn field for each cron, put this: Oxxx, where xxx is the outfit ID of the weapon you want to replace. In the OnEnd or OnStart field (doesn't matter, the duration of these crons should be 0, and always available date-wise.), put this: Dxxx Oyyy, where xxx is the same outfit ID, and yyy is the new, fire-when-cloaked weapon. Make sure the iterative entry/end bit is checked, depending on which field you choose to use. Viola. Now, all your existing weapons will be replaced, and any of the stock weapons you buy will be replaced after at most 1 day. Only problem is if you sell the "power cell" or whatever- you'll have a bunch of fire-when-cloaked weapons. You could do anti-crons, or just be simple, and say you can't sell the power cell.

If you'd like an example of this technique, look at the carbon-fiber degrade system in the Nova scenario.

Great idea! That should have been "Dxxx Gyyy", though.
