    • new plug-in: procedures?

Okay, so we have a little bitty plugin -- The Mushroom Lady -- ready for beta testing... I did the forum search, checked the Upcoming Plug-ins directory page, and can't find anything specific on how to proceed.

(I figured I'd post so the next person doing a search finds some info.)

If you need a beta tester, I'd like to apply for the job. As far as getting on the Upcoming page, Stark will undoubtedly see this in a few hours and tell you how. Sounds great! We need more plug-ins of any size. 🙂 ~RD

My Doctor said I was having too much wine, women, and song - so I gave up singing because 2 out of 3 is not so bad.
The (url="http://"http://www.evula.org/rduck/")Kingdom of Garendall(/url) sectional map is easily printed from gif format pages.
Find those areas you missed the first time around. You'll want to explore those hidden areas now made accessible with Spells Expander.

    • Mrs. Axe,

Excellent, I'm glad to hear you are starting to work on plug-ins. 🙂

When you are ready to release your plug-in, head on over to the (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/pog/addons.html")addons(/url) page. Go to the bottom of the page and click on the "Submit a file" button. This will open up another window with fields to fill out. In the "File" field click browse and locate your compressed plug-in. Then in the description field type a nice description for it. Then click on "Submit" to upload the file to the server. At this point it is out of your hands and is up to either ArcAngelCounterstrike or myself to review it and approve it so others can download it.

A few notes on submitted plug-ins:

      1. For compression just stuff the file with stuffit expanders dropstuff utility. This should give the file a .sit extension. Don't bother binhexing the file(.hqx) and please don't use Compact Pro(.cpt). The former just adds unnecessary size, and the latter won't allow Windows users to uncompress your plug-in.

      2. Make sure you upload your plug-in, and not your plug-in source code. 🙂

      3. Remove all spaces from your plug-ins name and replace them with underscores. Ie, if the name of your plug-in is, "Big fluffy azeroths" then you should rename it "Big_fluffy_azeroths." If you don't then the scripts on the addons page that keep track of your plug-in's rating and number of downloads will be goofed up.

      4. When you build your plug-in for release, create a readme file for it that explains: A) how to install your plug-in(ie, which folder to place into the PoG->plugins folder), 🆒 where to begin your plug-in(who to contact or where to go), C) any known issues with your plug-in(unresolved bugs), D) how to contact you if problems are located.

I also like to thank anyone who helped on the plug-in in the readme, such as beta testers or people that supplied graphics and/or music.

Anyhow, do this when you submit your plug-in and we will all be happy. 🙂

Good luck, and feel free to question what you don't understand.

LOL. "Axe" is from the phonetic pronunciation of my initials... AKS = Axe. My husband's initials are MAS.

Heh. He does most of the programming, I do some of the initial testing, give suggestions, and, in this case, created the new graphics.

We should get the stuff posted later today.
