I also just got Lightwave 3D, cool app, heavy learning curve. I also do not belive Strata 1.75 will be able to compete in both modeling and mapping abilites to any of the newer apps.
Is there going to be any more contests?

I almost completely forgot about the comp. but am still hoping to go in it, as long as I can... borrow my dads G4, otherwise I'm screwed.
On a slightly different note, does anyone have anything free (legitimately, I mean), that is better than Infini-D 3? I got POV-Ray but couldn't cope without a GUI. (Sob Sob)
Any help would be appreciated.
