    • Problem adding new ship


      I've done a search and haven't found anything helpfull. My problem is I'm trying to add a new ship with a new resource number as oposed to just replacing an existing ship under an existing resource number because I don't want it to show up in space in connection with some dude or fleet resource. This ship is to be for the player only. I've used the first available number (411) at the end of the list in the ships resource (but before the escape pod). and used Nova Calc to figure out the resource IDs for the shans, desc, etc... Then I set it's tech level to 0 and it's gov to -1 and it's display order to 900. Nothing in the availability test field and the show only if true checkbox unchecked but the ship won't show up in the ship yard on earth. I've tried everything I can think of but I'm at my wits end. Any ideas on what the problem is?

      The tech level needs to match the tech level (or one of the special tech fields) on Earth for it to appear.

      The Nova Bible says that the tech level of the spob only needs to be higher than the tech level of the ship or match one of the special techs. Is this a missprint or something?

      I dont think 0 counts as a tech level, try 1 to 7 or 14, 20, 55, 57.

      Oh, and if its not the tech level, make sure "Buy Random" is set to 100%

      That's partially what I meant. '0' tends to be the same as '-1' in a lot of Nova's fields, as in ignored. Try 1, 2 or 3..

      Yup, I did all those things Including matching all of those tech level and buy random stats to ships that I knew where showing up just fine like the Shuttle. But Nothing seems to work. Problem Is I try not to bother people here with stupid questions untill I've exhausted evrery other possibility I can think of. Unfortunately by that time everything people suggest is stuff I already did which makes me a much harder person to help. Sorry :frown:

      hmmmmm. Lets start with this question. Has anyone out there added a new ship under a new resource ID number without simply replaceing an existing ship successfully?

    • Doh! I figured it out. I had an old plug in in my plugins folder that had a ship with the same resource number so my new ship was being over written. I just removed the old plug and it works fine now. Sorry about the stupid question. 🙂
