    • Questions.

I will try to make these questions as clear as possible.

      1. How do I make an Uninhabited planet?

If you can land on it and it is a -1 or Independent it has Refule and Mission BBS I want to get rid of both and Make it uninhabited.

A -- What program or programs are used to do graphics for Planets? The 2 Dimentional Image that is shown in space.

B -- Do they cost lots of money (programs)?

C -- Were can I get them? (programs)

I would like to make an attempt at creating them on my own before I break down and have to ask someone to make them for me. Which Ill prob have to do any way but Id like to try.

A -- What program or programs are used to make Ships? (know this is in the FAQ but want the other info)

      B-- Do they cost alot?

      C -- Were can I get them?

      (sorry for such repetativeness)

A -- What kind of programs are used to make images for the Outfits?

B -- Do they cost alot?

      C -- Were can I get them?

      1. Is there any one written document that goes over each of the Nova resources (other than the bible) explaining what they are and what they do and why they do it?

Reason for that question is I like to understand the ins and outs and think I wouldnt have to bug all you 'smarty pantses' if I had something like that.

Any answers you can give me would be much apreciated...

I bid you all a fair day.

      - go into the spob resource in NovaTools, and check the uninhabited button.

      2) What program or programs are used to do graphics for Planets? The 2 Dimentional Image that is shown in space.

      - PlanetForge works well. You could also purchase lightwave or something, but PF is a simple, free prog.

      3) What program or programs are used to make Ships? (know this is in the FAQ but want the other info)

      - I use Strata 3D 3.0.2, which is free. Others like Pov-Ray, which is also free. Others use Infini-D, which I have no idea where to find.

      4) What kind of programs are used to make images for the Outfits?

      - Same as above.

Check out the (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/vftp/show.pl?product=evn&category;=guides&display;=date&page;=1")Nova Guides(/url). Most are for the Nova scenario, but you can find several documents on creating plug-ins.

      Good luck!

In the spöb editor in NovaTools, click the "Uninhabited" checkbox.

The planet graphic application ATMOS used was LunarCell, which is a filter for Photoshop. Photoshop costs a lot of money, and LunarCell costs about 30 bucks. If you don't have Photoshop, fear not. I'm currently working on a planet yard which'll provide planet graphics.

ATMOS used Lightwave. You could also use ElectricImage, Bryce, Strata, or Machanisto (Don't know where you could find that).

The same programs they used to make ships. I assume you mean both the outfit pictures and the in-game animations. I recomend Lightwave. You can grab yourself a copy of that here for $400.

Ok.. How do you make an Uninhabited planet without using Nova tools...

Right now Im writing everything from scratch so that I understand the processes... So if someone could explain that without using Nova tools I would be exstatic (SP)

(edit) Scratch meaning Res Edit and Template Scratch, not putting in numbers scratch. Im definatly not program type of person... (/edit)

The majority of the planets in Nova were made using (url="http://"http://www.flamingpear.com/lunarcell.html")LunarCell,(/url) a plugin for Photoshop (although cheaper programs that utilize Photoshop's filter format can use it, too). Pricing for LunarCell can be found on that site, while Photoshop is much more expensive (although the plugin works with Photoshop Elements, which is only $99 or so).

Type in '0x00000020' in the spöb's flags field.

The confuzzling nature of the flags is one of the reasons NovaTools is much better to use for this sort of thing.

    • Its rather easy in NovaTools, but im not sure exactly what it translates to in templates. The best way to do it would be to use NovaTools. It works very well and is efficient.

In response to your question 5:

The Bible is the best resource available. Just downlaod the text version and look through it whenever you have a question.
