i'm not quite sure what the ranger pathfinder skill does or how i use it... could someone enlighten me? please tell me it doesn't involve trying to 'enter' large clumps of trees... can't imagine anything more tedious...
thanks

The pathfinding skill allows you to see secret passageways( the little S symbols hanging from trees. Behind them it may look solid but run around near it and Lo ! Behold the secret path.Secret paths lead usually in forests to little places filled with goodies, Other times they have somthing to do with the storyline. The pathfinding skill is not needed to win the game but is nice.

Aack, why do my messages keep turning up like that? Oh well, forget about the above message. (It was an accident, heh)

Sadly, the S does not appear on the map, but you have to walk everywhere to find them. The good thing is that the passages will never change place, so if you make a new character, you can immediately go back and get stuff

They are fairly obvious. You won't miss it once you see one and know what to look for.

There is another way. If you study the map in my signature below, any small area with grass completely enclosed by trees will most likely have a secret path leading to it somewhere. The first most obvious one is one square north of the Learning Tree and it connects two sections of the map from north to south. Other than the one that Mary Krystina leads you to, there are no others in the early game. ~RD
Edit: The only one I know of that is not marked beside Mary K's cave, is in the far south in the square with Karax, the dwarf. But this is definately an end game area.

Find those areas you missed the first time around. You'll want to explore those hidden areas now made accessible with Spells Expander.
