    • You can download EnRLE/DeRLE here: (url="http://"http://w00tware.ev-nova.net")http://w00tware.ev-nova.net(/url) .

There are two ways to completely override EV Nova's data:

      1. take everything you want to replace out of the Nova Data Files folder.
      2. make unused resources in your plugin.

number 1 is preffered, because it decreases your bug probabiltiy factor, file size, and ammount of work.

    • hey, can you refresh my memory on how to use enrle/derle again, because i forgot 😕

Out of curiosity, why does replacing the data files decrease your "bug probability factor?" It seems to me that if replacing the data files is a better way to change the game then plugs, then what is the point of implementing plug in ability in the first place?

Editing the data files is the best way to make a TC. All the stuff is already there, so you only need to edit it to make it work. Much easier than starting from scratch.

    • Maybe so...however, whenever I do a plug, I WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN ON PAPER before I start typing....all the missions (yes all, that's the intro, yes/no text, everything), planet descriptions, whatever. This way, you know what to do (that is, IF you labeled everything correctly).

I really think the "bug-free" way to go is starting fresh. However, you should open up the original EV:N data to see what way your should be drifting towards so you don't get lost....sort of use it as a guide.

Because if you start editing in an alias of the EV:N data, once you change one thing then you have to move to a whole other data fork and change another then another and another....you lose track of what you have and have not done. Too complex.
