    • The first things I would like to see would be the sprites that actually change when given different weapons and the first things richius pointed out, but it is entirely up to the plug designer.

    • How about adding some real quests for the new specialtys? They're a lot of fun to play but I haven't found any quests for them except the goblin collecting quest. With class specific quests you could add new titles for completing them. As well as page or squire you could get titles like 'apprentice' or 'druid'.

    • Howdy!

1>>> how 'bout the ability to carry over the character you have taken SOOO long to build to newer/more sophisticated quests?

2>>> Aside from the lone ship to reefs island .. how 'bout a small inland boat, perhaps a few that you could purchase to make travel a bit easier between land masses .. and nifty access to some heretofore 'undiscovered countries' or islands..?

3>>> MULTIPLAYER! MULTIPLAYER! MULTIPLAYER! .. not only internet multiplay, but how 'bout some central character entourage accompanyment..? Perhaps characters that would be 'for hire' ..? In fact, that was alluded to at the end of the game .. the escort .. remember..?

4>>> Weather/weather effects/terrain effects..? Or is it really sunny all the time in Garendall..? ''o))

5>>> And where's all the wild game for eating .. and the grog and meade wine emporiums for some lively (live) entertainment on long travels..?

6>>> Fairgrounds for contests between characters .. especially for all you roudy rogues out there..? And lady roguettes as well ...

7>>> Will we see a development wherein we could send hirelings on sub-quests to aid the overall quest..? For that matter, in internet multiplay .. we might have quest competition between motley crews and ragtaggers to see who is the craftier/more skilled group .. perhaps 3 or 4 small groups could start out on a given date .. with an ultimate time limit to complete say .. a scavenger hunt .. or a much larger quest that might take 3 months to resolve .. with reports sent back by messengers to the quest high council as to developments afoot and afield ...?

      hmmm...?

      ''o))

    • Ideas for improvement/add'l quests:

      1. In real life food and drink are required periodically. e.g. Have the character lose 5% hp every 5 min of play, requiring potions or foods to replenish.

      2. Some of the puzzels in TaskMaster were challenging. Have a quest that requires going thru e.g. Aveny (sp?) mts to Dernath or Cyclops coast, where scree/slip slopes and streams move the character to different levels and areas but where only one combo gets to the quest and out. Make the "gate stones" and shovel unusable.

      3. 1st time thru I won w/o ever challenging a sea giant. Make play after "winning" dependant on owning a "Ring of the Gods" or a quest that was similarly dependant.

      4. I like the navel quest idea, and ability to swim across some of the rivers. Maybe a shallow wading place that is like the circled S. (A circled W?)

      5. An earned ability to see what treasures have yet to be "discovered" like x-ray vision when viewing the map.

      ------------------

    • I forgot to add another idea I've thought about.

      6. Have a quest that requires negotiation, payment, relational skills rather than destruction, that if done correctly gives an "aura" that will make certain classes of opponents "neutral" but really hard to defeat if you get on their bad side.

      ------------------

    • scroll wheel support and maybe a bag to keep your stones in...

      ------------------

    • i think there should also be a plugin where you can swap money and non important items (like 3000 gold and an elven hauberk for elven full plate, but not the millakara sheild for heldan's hat) between two files on your computer or with other people, over the internet.

actually, the ranger shows either a dagger, bow, axe, or the Great Wolf Claws, based on what title you have. (its the small things like this that piss me off 😄 )

    • a. Hazardous terrain: essentially, the terrains from the game can now be either walked upon or not. Terrains that you have to cross but kill you slow or faster would be a nice addition (swamps, lava, broken bridges etc.).

      b. My plugin doesn't work so maybe this one is already possible: visit the dwarves.

      c. More music, different for each location.

      d. more flying enemies, I like the ookwasps.

      e. etc.

    • i think it would be cool if you could have your own house, have like a chest to put your stuff in. kind of like in cythera if your were to take a house away from someone.
if the wells worked so you could get a drink would be cool too. and if you could walk in to biuldings like the blacksmith or the inn, again like cythera. have your own dock with a boat so you could go fishin, and discover other little islands that need explorin.

just a couple of my ideas.

    • Hello All,
      I have a few ideas:
1)Have different races that one could be, each with their own abilities and limitations. Elves could have forestwalk. There could a vampyric race where you'll have an attack that gains you hp; however, over time you will also lose hp. Etc.

      1. Have additional abilities for Swordsman, Ranger, and Conjuror. While in the wild, the Ranger could slowly regain hp (though potions would still help). Conjurors would be able to improve their casting ability: after X number of uses, the player can choose to increase its potency, duration, or lower the casting cost. Don't know yet for Swordsman.

3)All weapon types should should be available to all character classes. However, give the different classes differing weapons profiencies. I personally can use a bow, though not with the same profiency as a trained archer. So give the Swordsman and the Conjuror the ability to use a bow, but they do only a fourth of the damage a Ranger would and perhaps not with the same distance.

      1. Have a Good/Neutral/Evil alignment scale. Have creatures of varying alignment that will only initiate combat with you depending upon your on alignment. Alignment will change by completion of certain quests, use of certain items, killing creatures. Alignment would affect availability of certain quests, usability of certain items, access to certain areas of the game. Along these lines, classes and races may have an alignment range requirement, in order to accomplish full potency.

5)An idea for a big plugin would be to create several other kingdoms. Then one could also have political alignments.

      1. Multiclassing ability. Though this would have to carry a cost with it. A possibility would be to increase the number of levels between skill improvements.

    • All of these plugins ideas are really massive ones that would change the game significantly, but here's an easy one:

All throughout the game the text messages have really annoyed me. Grammatical mistakes, mis-spellings, and general goofiness have somehow given it an atmosphere more suitable to pokemon that a fantasy RPG. For example, when Septemris and his men complete the first barricades, he says, "Im really proud of you guys!".
A lot of work has gone into the graphics, so how hard would it be to just work a bit on the text? Change things like "Hi" to "Good day", and generally make a more authentic medieval atmosphere.
If someone made a plugin doing that, it would really improve the game and make it more professional.

    • i noticed the mass amounts of grammatical errors, but i never realized that they were using more modern language. youre right llegolas, the game would have a better atmosphere if the language were more fitting to the date. "I'm really proud of you guys" could be changed to "I'm really proud of you men". and maybe not use as many contractions

a good plugin would be zelda. id like to see what ganondorf would do against my Demi-God character

    • They should have a plugin where you can get a horse to ride on and it boosts your speed by like 5-10, but you can only use weapons like bows, one handed axes/swords, and pikes.

Also, they should have an addition to the weapons-throwing knives/spears. Ive noticed that in all the other games that ive played they usually have at least one of those two to use. They should also have slingshots, a bit cheaper, less effective, and shorter ranged than bows, but more accessable to the beginning ranger.

In addition to what someone said earlier, they should have an archer class i mean i know rangers are pretty close but they can still use other weapons.

      Finally, I know this would be pretty complicated to do, but every time you hit x;
1)if you using a sword, a critical hit meter comes up with a little marker going around/up and down the dial (like in football games when you kicking) and when you hit x again the marker stops moving and you do a certain amount of damage, in your range of damage capability, based on where in your critical-hit-o-meter the marker stopped.
2)if you using a bow, a big picture of the enemy pops up and you have like 5 seconds to place a little aiming dot on where on the creature you wanna hit, and your damage is equal to how critical to that creatures life the spot that you hit is, like if you hit him in the chest, a fairly large amount of damage would be done
However, you marksmanship/dexterity would still factor into the damage that you do.

    • Also, how about individual weapon skills? In Cythera there were separate skills you could learn to increase your proficiency with certain weapons using training points. In PoG this might translate to strength/dexterity bonuses and penaltys when using a certain type of weapon.

    • A lot of the possibilitys of a plugin depends on how powerful the coldstone engine is. I mean, can a game be in sinc with the OS so it could tell time and make the envirment go dark at 6:30. We really can't tell how powerful it really is because PoG is the only game that has been made with coldstone. My question is PoG take full advantage of coldstone, or are there other features in the engine that we have not seen. 😄

    • one thing thats been ticking me off: in order to get to the blue mushroom, you must complete the gwyden mission, go across the newly completed bridge, and go through the plains of endlesswind. id like to get to it a lot easier than that. on the screen the has mongo's termite farm, over on the left, there is a stream. someone could put a bridge across it so you would have to go through so much sheis to get the shroom

    • I strongly second the person who said that the grammar of the text items should be fixed, and their style should be improved and made more consistent with the characters and the environment. This is important because the text, second only after the graphics, establishes the flavor of the adventurer's experience.

These issues could be quickly fixed by sub-contracting. I would be surprised if the developers, as a group, were more than two handshakes away from a teacher of English or a professional editor who could clean up the errors in a couple of hours' work.

Beyond routine copy-editing, tho, is the issue of making characters "sound" like themselves -- getting what writers call the "diction" (word choice and sentence structure, "Duh?" versus "Excuse me?") of each character to conform to that character's personality. This is a job for a creative writer with SF/fantasy experience. Just having read LOTR twice does not qualify you to write in the high diction of medieval fantasy! But there are plenty of good writers around and they are usually eager to accept interesting contracts.
