Well, I tell ya my copy is certainly legit, and I've got the CDs and dongle (and 4lb manual) to proove it.

if you have Lightwave, why would you need Maya? Or, if buying Maya, why would you need Lightwave? To impress the ladies or something? If I made $60 an hour, instead of $7, I'd find better things to spend it on than redundant graphics programs. That's like buying two sports cars...sure, it sounds impressive, but in the end it's entirely unnecessary.

As long as you're getting the trial versions, remember that the Lightwave trial version doesn't save, and the Maya trial uses proprietary file formats and watermarks the renders. Pick one that you like, and stick with it.

Ditto, I'm getting Lightwave soon. Already got myself the other programs to match it. (After Effects 5.5 PB, Adobe Photoshop 7), I took a look at Maya at Macworld, it's nice, but it's far more complicated than it needs to be. I like the Mel Scripting though. Lightwave just seems like a cheaper, and more intuative option, sorry bout' all those Maya folks though, they do make good software.

I've been using Strata up till now (v1.75+) you can see why I want to upgrade, that version of Strata dosen't even support reflection maps, god. I'm far overdue for an update.
