Actually reading the original topic of this post again, I'm finding it's a great idea. I would most certainly link this kind of thing to my Scrapyard, and if this planet yard idea works, I'll stay out of that market for the Scrapyard (planets don't make good scrap anyway).
I also recently discovered some planets this guy named Machiave11i made up for me...I wonder what I should do with them, since I'd consider them more his property than mine, but I haven't been able to contact him. They were really nice planets too -- very realistic, complete with atmospheric haze and everything. And they came in multiple sizes. I suppose these are the kinds of things I'd want to see in planets in a planet yard.
And would these things be public domain? For the Scrapyard, I'm planning on having terms of use established by the author. It'd probably be a good idea to establish something -- you probably want to require that the author be credited, but to what extent can these things be used? You know, in commercial projects, or just personal use, or something like that? I think I'd find these planets pretty useful for EV stuff, but perhaps projects outside of EV too. I'd like to know under what terms I could use them.
But anyway, yeah, this is a nice idea, I hope it works out well.
