    • Nova graphics in EVO

Thats right I've started putting in the graphics from Nova into the EVO scenario. I started out just doing this for myself so I could enjoy some aspects of EVN on my old Centris, but was wondering if there would be any interest in me putting it out for the public.

I would only be changing the graphics. Ship stats, weapon stats, story, and missions would stay the same.

Let me know what you think.

    • Well, obviously you wouldn't be able to have several aspects of the Nova scenario in EVO (inertialess ships and hypergates come to mind), but if you're just basically putting some of EVN's graphics in EVO to see how it works, I suppose that couldn't be that bad. Dunno how they'd look, though; 16 bit > 8 bit.

    • Yeah, you don't get quite the effect that you would playing Nova, but it gives people that still have older computers that can't run EVN a chance to see some of ATMOS's hard work in action. As far as how they look in action, it's not as bad as I thought it would. DeRel makes the job that much easier. The hardest part is converting large ships like the Leviathan from 64 frames down to 36.

(forget the Vell-os, transparancys in 8bit look icky)

So, how are you only going to be changing the graphics without changing the ship stats?

    • By substituting the spďns of existing EVO ships for the spďns of the Nova ships, maybe? Or are you creating new shďp resources for the Nova ships?

Because Nova uses the shän resource for ships instead of spďns like in EV and EVO, I can't unfortunately just substitute from one to the other. I must modify the EVO
spďns to fit the Nova graphics. (Hint: there's a lot of copy, paste, Photoshop, copy, paste, scream, copy...)

The Nova ships are taking the place of EVO ships. Turncoat becomes Manticore, Arada becomes Starbridge, Shuttle becomes...well... Shuttle 😛

I might change the ship stats eventual, but first I want to finish putting in the Nova graphics and see how it looks and feels.

That's what I meant. Thank you for confirming it.

      Fed Viper=UE Fighter?
      Aurorans=Voinians?
      What about the strands?

    • For different Aradas, I imagine that Pirate bridge/Rebel bridge/Mod bridge would be able to show what kind of Arada. SADs/SAEs=Polaran torpedo/massive torpedo?

You don't have enough missile weapons...

Raven Rockets could make for good Needle Missiles. EMP Torps would be Rockets. Hellhound missiles would be Hunter missiles. Radar missiles would be Dispy Rockets. Gravimetric Missiles would be Pursuit Missiles. Now you still have Radar missiles and Etheric Wake missiles to play with. We have extra missiles weapons. I think the Wraithii graphic would be good for the Phase weaponry.

Hey, Etheric Wake missiles could replace the Forklift... 🆒

    • I have a list written out of all the EVO ships and their Nova equivilants, but I left it a home and I can't remember the whole thing accurately. The Starbridge will become the Arada though. I might have to do some Photoshoping as it looks like the Manta will become the Crescent Fighter, and it needs three different variants(stock, Zachit, Zidagar). Right now the the Strands are divided up between the Polaris and some other ships like the Lightning, Wraith, and Rebel Dragon (I might stick the Hyperoids in somewhere).

Sudden Thought: The Wraith have three different color schemes right? If they do I could use them for the CF.
