    • I'll help beta test this and also with any plot questions that might arise. I happen to have every single episode of Robotech on DVD along with Robotech II: The Setinels movie, and the movies Macross Plus and Macross II: Lovers Again (although the last two don't have anything to do with Robotech).

      (edit)Also, regarding fighters: You can have escape ships and mburch made a small plug with a seperating Enterprise. Not sure how you would do that specifically, but you could probably use it that way to switch between mecha.(/edit)

      Well . . . we're still quite-a-ways off from beta testing at this point, but we're still interested in taking on some people that might be able to help come up with some ideas for missions/plot stuff especially if they have as much Robotech background as you seem to have . . . if you're interested please drop me a line . . .

      There are one or two ships that we plan to use this feature on . . . ie. - the armored veritech . . . but I'm not sure if the escape ship thing would make it possible to do transformation. I would guess that the plug you are talking about had the saucer section of the enterprise separate if he rear part of the ship got destroyed . . . if it created 2 independent ships that would be something we could use for another ship alltogether . . . (alpha/beta Legios fighter) If this is possible it would be nice to know how to do .

      What are you refering to . . . ? the escape ship creating 2 distinct ships? Would it then be possible for the two ships to "re-attach"? What happens to the the non escape ship part when you detach? Does it become a escort?

      unfortunately, no. When you use escape ships, the original ship gets gets destroyed. I think, however, that you can make a fighter bay that behaves like the second section. You start by rendering the animation twice. The first rotation is without the first part (ie. the engineering section of the enterprise only), and the second is with both parts (ie. the saucer and engineering sections together), and you set the shan so that the second set is an additional weapon. Next, you make a fighter bay that is the first section alone (the saucer section), and when you launch the figher, the saucer disappears off the sprite. Am I wrong with this assessment?

    • To accomplish folding and unfolding, you could do some sort of escape ship system:
      Problems:
      1: No Transition
      2: Full Shileds/Armor each time you eject (which would have to be an unlimited number of times, or you counldn't ever change back).
      3: When you were abut to die, instread of actually ejecting, you would just refold and be regenerated.
      This would simply not be a good choice for this...

      Well the armored veritech wouldn't need to go back together, I remember the armor and how it blew apart in pannels when the armor was trashed and it became a normal veritech. Never seen the alpha/beta Legios fighter though. With the armored veritech trashed, I can see escapeing into a normal veritech (with a special explosion for the armored veritech to make it look like the armor is ejected). Then on planet with special bits set to that kind of veritech, you are alowed to buy a refit of armor. changeing your ship back to a armored veritech (like the Starbridge C upgrade)
      Not sure carried ships of this kind will work, specialy after ejecting. So they would have to work independently.

      Folding and unfolding, you can make a animation of one ship becomeing two whenever it fires it weapons (like the astroid minner) but the two ships will still have the shield and armor of 1 ship, and can't work apart from each other.... Theres no real good way to make one ship into two and back again without loseing a few basic elements.

      Yes . . . most probably . . . we will be recreating the huge Zentraedi warships as well as several RDF ships ( the ARMD platform and probably several others that are mentioned in the series ). I had been thinking about a outfit that would put non-transformable mecha walking the hulls of these ships . . . look for it to show up at some point . . .

      We've been making some progress in actually getting some stuff into the engine and we'll probably be putting up som screenshots early next week . . .

      Hey, sorry I haven't been able to get on the hotline recently. My school ends late (the end of June) so I've been really busy working on large final projects, etc. After June, I should be able to chat with you. I'm still interested, just that school's preventing EV work of any kind from being done...

      Heya Matrix . . .

      No problem . . . I totally understand. Things have sort of been slowed to a crawl as far as robotech things are concerned around here as well . . . 🙂 Maya has decided that it needs to make my life miserable by not working like it should. Never fear though . . . The class has just ended and I will be on a mission tomorrow to get at least the Veritech (fighter mode) into EV . . . I've been toying around with glows and things of the sort and have finally got something that kinda works . . .

      Some screen shots are sure to follow shortly . . . 🙂
