Hrm. Haven't seen the movie, but I fully agree with the basic idea. And Stargate would be purty durn cool on the EV3 engine. Now, if we could only figure out how to put Matrix on Nova... Hrm. I guess you could do the basic idea, but you'd be pretty much limited to the hovercraft, no first-person stuff. But I still like the basic idea of big beefy robots chasing you all over the place, then you trying to hide and using a last-ditch weapon against them... Desperate, uphill battles against incredible odds... Yes... There's some poetic justice there. It'd be hard, but you could do something loosely based on it.
BTW, Mantaray, grammar is spelled with an 'a'. Just a friendly reminder from the local UBB spellchecker...
But I'm getting off the subject. Limited 'guided inspiration' (aka 'semi-legal plagiarism') is always good. EG, I took the idea for the big badguys in the plug I'm helping on, the UTLC, from 3 sources: Farenheit 451 , by the unsurmountable Ray Bradbury, the 'New Moralists' from Ben Bova's Moonwar , and the UNEF from The Forever War , by somebody else, don't remember who. And, of course, people like the Tyrann (easy to guess who's the badguys there, huh?) from Isaac Asimov's The Stars, Like Dust. And a couple of hundred much more obscure books. Yeah, I'm an SF junkie, cantcha tell?
Hey, if the movie was that good, than somebody will run with it. Just keep reminding people, Barzagg. You're doin' a good job as it is, keeping us on our toes.
