I've been making plug-ins for a while yet I'm still having trouble. I can't figure out at all how to set flags for things like ships and weapons. So far I've been using EVOGod or EV Edit to set them. This is probably somehow obvious to some people but I can't figure it out. Can anybody just tell me how from scratch how to set flags in ResEdit?

The flags are hexadecimal. you need to enter $00000 for nothing, and you add them in as you go along.

1+2 = 3
1+4 = 5
2+4 = 6
1+2+4 = 7
1+8 = 9
2+8 = A
1+2+8 = B
4+8 = C
1+4+8 = D
2+4+8 = E
1+2+4+8 = F

You should never get more than 15 (F) if you do you added wrong. You should also never get a value other than these numbers. So in short, you add all the flags you want, hex style(see above) and enter that into the resedit field.

That seems like a confusing explanation.

Jsut add them up and instead of doing 10-15, use A-F.

I dont know about EVOGod or EV-Edit, but if you just use ResEdit and the templates you can enter the flags there. If you are working for Nova, NovaTools has clicky-boxes.
