    • Point Defense Question (EVN)


      Is it possible to make a weapon that would destroy any hostile missiles it hit but wouldn't fire automatically?

    • I doubt it........... You could try screwing around with fighter bay wëaps to see if you could make fighters that would shoot straight ahead and into the path of the missiles, though. (You'd have to give the ship type a small graphic, zero turn rate, no shields, and very little armor.)

      ........... I think that would work.

      How about making the PD weap secondary trigger?

      Maybe if you could target missiles... or does that only work with 'normal' turrets and not PDs?

    • I think this was possible in the EV/O engine with setting certain flags on the weapon. I can't recall for certain which plug used this, but it might have been "EV Ultra"? (You could shoot down missiles with one of your cannons...)

      Since the decoy flare type has now been replaced with PD turrets in EVN, I don't think this is possible anymore.

      Correct - the cannons you mentioned used the 'decoys missiles' flag, which is no longer available in EVN.
