      Does anyone from the OBW project know if you have a general release date in mind?

    • No, I don't think we can even begin to estimate that yet. Progress is constantly changing, and we can't tell for sure how long it will take.

      Hmmm...I have an idea. How about we release an obw sampler sometime soon, with just a few levels. Don't worry about the plot being in order, this is just to show our best levels off to the ferazel public. The hard thing will be putting them in order so they get progressively harder and it's possible for Ferazel to beat them. What do you think, aschaaf?

      I tried and it was too much like work. (Anything that takes that much effort I want to make $$ from.) Besides, the last time I did any sort of programming it was in Pascal and on punch cards. Now I just hire someone to do that stuff for me.
      I'd be happy to Beta-test someone elses levels though.

      OK, when AVN sends me updated versions of some of his levels (which will be soon, I think), you can Beta-test what's been done so far.

      I know! - try this on...

      We all have our roles in life. My roll is being a "payer" of shareware fees (and Beta tester). All the rest of you can look forward to (eventually) collecting those shareware fees from the experience you've gained from making shareware worlds for FW. (How'd I do?)

      As far as Beta-testing - Aren't AVN's levels supposed to be really tough?

    • They aren't all that tough if you know how to do them... Except Plummit Summit. That's the last level in my Kingdom and it's insanely hard. The rest are more "puzzle" levels. Think carefully before you do anything. 🙂 Especially in "The Surface".

    • AVN-Can I Beta-test OBW? I need some excuse to stop from being forced to clean out my 20 pound school binder and have played all the stuff on the addons section and discovered every secret in the full game. PLEASE, I'm actually starting to slack off on my ferazel playing.!!!!!!!!

      AVN- I think you should make your levels less hard.
      MonsterLady- Try Circut City. It's AVN's least hard level, I think.

    • Yeah. I use my family as beta testers.

      You have to keep in mind that levels you create are to be played by others, not by you. It's really not that fun playing your level. You know all the secrets. The fun is having others being puzzled for a while, that seeing them light up when the figure it out. You want to have them feeling good when they complete a level, not walking away with a headache. A good mixture of short, long, hard, easy, puzzle, neat works well. My experience with MASCOT has given me more respect for game developers. These guys can ceate well balance levels. That's hard to do, I see, because you have to be the mind of the developer and the player.
