Guys, I should note that I've checked out what Patmos is doing, and it's on the level. He's a community member of long standing, and I foresee this project being ~the~ TC for Nova, ie. the Frozen Heart/Femme Fatale of the Nova engine.
Give him support, ideas, help, etc.
It is a Total Conversion for Escape Velocity: Nova. The map you see above is of the complete Universe, everything is there, desc, spob, syst, nebu. Today marked the completion for the foundation, 'the Universe', which I consider the most difficult part of a plug-in. Bare in mind, this map is very likely to change and evolve, but this is a completion, only tweaking on the 'desc, spob, syst, nebu' parts are required now. There many be a few more systems and space objects added if I feel it needed.
First of all, this is not VaporWare. My years in the EV community have taught me the more people spend promoting their plug-in, the less likely it is to be completed. So I took ten minutes to do this, just to see the results of posting the topic. If all goes well, I will continue to show off the various graphics and parts of the plug as each major step is finished. I in fact, am not even including who I am. If you know, please do not say it.
My goal is to make an EV/EVO/EVN type scenario. It is not like other plug-ins that focus on a single story, I wanted a plug to return that 'free' feeling, I'm not trying to make something as large as Override or Nova, somewhere between the size of Escape Velocity and Override. I have done plug-ins before, so I know to set a realistic plan.
Graphics will be one of the last pieces added. I have insisted that they be worked on once it is very close to completion. Essentially, I have several artists (including myself) contribute whatever they can, and I already have a few people willing to commit to it.
Anyways, expect more updates in the future. I do not need Testers at this time, but feel free to ask questions here if you like. If you are seriously interested in contributing to the project at a later date, I can be contacted at millenniumproject@mac.com
Additionally, if you have any ideas or 'wants' for my EVlike scenario, feel free to add them here. If you have ever said to yourself, "If there was an EV4, I would like to see....", or had any ideas you have never seen added to a plug-in that you wish were, please share.
