    • An astute Nova resource-spelunker will note that within the "EV Nova" application are a pair of resources, a "sfnt" and a "FOND" which are bit-for-bit identical to the built in font in EV and EVO (Sillycon Valley).

Does anybody know how it's possible to convince EVN to use this built-in font in ďntf and cölr resources?

    • I'm not sure whether you can get EV Nova to use the built-in font or not, but if you want to use Sillycon Plain, you could always have the user install it in their Fonts folder and just refer to it the normal way.

Sure, but that's a pain in the butt for the end user. If it's possible to use whatever lurks within EV Nova's resource fork, then I can save the player a bit of a hassle. Maybe there's some transitional code left over from when Matt implemented custom fonts in the first place - it would explain the vestigal font resources.

Someone made their own fonts (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/vftp/show.pl?product=evn&category;=plugins&display;=name&page;=6")plugin(/url)

I never liked the font, so I don't use it. But if you want to change the game's font maybe you could learn from this one?

    • Thanks for the link, but as far as I can see all he's doing is pointing EV to the "Skia" font, which most Macs have installed by default. The problem is, there is no real convincing substitute for Sillycon Valley in a default MacOS install, so I'm trying to see if it's possible to use the resources included in the Nova app itself. So far, no luck.

Hmm, could you make an installer app that places it in the Fonts folder for you?
