However, we do have an OfficeMax here that might be able to special-order such items. Before I pay for anything, though, I will ask him where he gets/got them from.
I doubt a place like OfficeMax would have such stuff - infact, I doubt CompUSA has what you need either. Your best bet is probably an online/catalog store, like MacWarehouse, or some auction place like eBay.

2. Which one are you referring to? The new G3 iMacs (basic model)? All the cd-rom drives I've ever seen/used the slide-out "drawer." Is that what you're referring to?
Every iMac, 350mhz and up, (Octobar 1999, or later) has a Slot Loading CD-Rom, CD-R/RW, or DVD-Rom Drive:
(And yes, it does look like a tongue in real life. :p)
You should take a look at Apple History. It has very interesting and detailed info on every Mac ever made.

I respect that. No Mac should be thrown out unless it's completely and utterly dead.

From the description of your spill, no, actually.

As for putting it in the dishwasher, I'm very skeptical (and leery) about doing that. I wonder what Apple has to say about it? For some reason, there is green stuff (mold, corrosion...) in/on the cable (inside the clear covering) running from the keyboard for about four inches. The same stuff was on the original mouse's cable. I was using my iMac one day, when the mouse (the round one) started to spark and smoke. Lemme tell ya, I unplugged it right then and there and, since I couldn't fix it, trashed it (I use a trackball now). I have had this computer for three years and so far, I haven't had any trouble with the keyboard.
Green stuff = bad. Buy a new keyboard, and try to keep food, drink, dust... basically anything that could get inside it, away from it.

You can definatley upgrade it yourself. That's a cinch. As for fixing it - depends what's wrong. If it's the CD Drive/Hard drive, yeah, sure. If it's the RAM, piece o' cake. but if it's anything else... Well, that's not really fix-able.

In this case, a warranty might cost more then the repair. (most warranties are rip-offs anyway) Better to just spend the money, and if it breaks - moth ball it, and buy a new one!

When I moved to pick up my keyboard, the cord caught the can and slid it over until it dropped into the desk drawer. When the can hit the bottom of the desk drawer, the coke inside splashed up and some of it got into the open cd-drawer. Pretty weird, huh? Sounds like one of those Rube Goldberg inventions.
'Eh? I was under the impression that your coke spilled into your computer. If it just spilled on the CD-Tray, no other problems should be a consequence of the spill... So, if it ain't broke, (meaning your hard drive) don't fix it.

That's a good idea. Also, just a thought, but if they have any old iMacs that just won't work, you might be able to scrap some parts off 'em.

Of course, that depends on whether or not there are others here who do use Macs (I'm sure I'm not the only one!). We'll see what happens.
Statisticaly speaking, there should be another 500 or 600 Mac users in Lake City.
Well, I'm going off on Vacation for two weeks in the morning, so best of luck with your computer, hope everything turns out ok. If you need some more help, try asking on (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/ubb/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum;=Just+Tech&number;=64&DaysPrune;=20&LastLogin;=")Just Tech(/url). They can probably do a better job then me anyways.
