    • Plug idea: Kestrel-lights

So I can't do graphics for my life, so this idea is no good to me, but i think that this really deserves to be out there: a plug-in that gives most of the ships system lights (any that it would work with, visually). This would work with all Fed, Rebel, Pirate, and Auroran ships. Some of them already have system lights, but some dont. I think that a Kestrel could look really cool, for instance, with a black paint job and some blinking lights. That would be the highlight of the plug, in my opinion, but that is not for me to decide because I am not making it, if it happens.

If this interests anyone, go ahead. ^_^

    • Well, I happen to be working on a plugin with Phil Barron and cOMMANDo where the original EV ships (and many new ones) will be re-modeled so they're suitable for use with Nova.

The only problem with running lights on the Kestrel that I see is that (modern) warships when they're about to go into battle rarely leave their running lights on.

    • Well perhaps, like the asteroid miner, you could have them 'Turn off' when weapons are fired, this may or may not work I probaply don't know what I'm talking about, but I could be making some sort of intellegent suggestion I just don't know how to implement it.

Have you ever heard of a saftey on that GUN?!

    • Or, perhaps you could connect it to the radar/warning system, so that whenever you entered a system with hostile ships or planets, it would automatically turn off the lights... "Hostiles detected, going to stealth mode captain!"

      That would be cool.

Again, like the sentinel, I have no clue how to implement this.

turning off running lights while firing would work and could have a huge delay for them to start again so they won't immediately start going again. However, there is no way to have this happen as soon as hostiles are detected as that doesn't trigger anything that a plug-in can work off of.
