    • Need a Starry Background

Once again I'm overambitiously trying to make a cool Astronomy Project. This time I need a starry background. I've searched the web for hours, and all the photos I find are focusing on some big important galaxy or quasar or whatever. I want a nice big black backdrop for several movies I'm making with a nearly uniform density of stars that aren't too big and don't stick out. High resolution, color, real images, and a reputable source preffered. I need this by tommorrow, as I'll present it on Tuesday.

    • Does it have to be real? I can send you a very nice plain starfeild that I made, it looks quite realistic.

Hmm. Did you try NASA? If you're interested, I have a computer generated starfield up (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/marshalfak/.Pictures/stars.jpg")at my website(/url). If you like it, I could send you a higher resolution version.

    • Speaking of starfields...

...is it possible to use more than one starfield in Nova? i.e., a different starfield appears only when a specific mission bit is on.

      Thanks.

As there seems to be only 1 resource ID set aside for the starfield, I think the answer is "no". You can play with the murkiness/background color in each syst, though.

Well...it is possible but overly complicated.

Have two different plug-ins, each exactly the same, except with different starfields. Then tell the user to replace them manually when you want the effect to occur. But again, that probably isn't an effective solution.

that would definetly ruin any sort of mood going on in the game. 😉

Well, if you remember Frozen Heart, Martin Turner made the player exit the game and read some stuffed files that contained a lot of information and stuff. You could do something similar.
