    • Helpful hints, guides, for Strata and Bryce

I just ordered Bryce 5, and was wondering if anyone has any good guides, tips, or anything of that nature that could help me. Such as, good textures, how to make sprites, engine glows, etc. Lequis_MX has given me some good stuff, but I crave more knowledge! And while I am the subject of knowledge, anyone have any good stuff on Strata, like guides for sprites and ships? Thanks a lot.

He would, after all, be an ambassador; between the old and the new-between the creatures of carbon and the creatures of metal who must one day supersede them.

    • I assume you have a Strata manual or know about the online manual.
For sprites, depending on your ship or computer, you might be able to vertically line six ships up, at the correct angles, select them, and use the replicate feature that would move them the right distance and angle. For masks, you could put a white color over the entire ship, turn off the global light, and make the ambient light white. Of course, if you have a complicated object, it could kill your computer, but that's all I can think of now.
Maybe you've already thought of all that, I'd like to know of a better way also, if anyone out there knows of one.
What kind of ship guides do you mean? In my experience, alot of the best knowledge comes from experimentation.

First off, Brycetech is the best first stop for tutorials, links, files, and other Bryce resources -- (url="http://"http://www.brycetech.com/")http://www.brycetech.com/(/url)

If asked I might provide some of my own working flow. As I mentioned elsewhere, I'm rendering in Bryce and going straight to p2s. Bryce can also do an alpha render with no difficulty whatsoever. On Strata I can not advise...but I'm also up for basic spline modelling in Ray Nightmare.
