For the record, my problem with the char resource is solved. Through adapting sample char plugs provided to me by Skybox and UE Patriot, I got it working. With that done Roughnecks is finally proceeding at a good pace, with the first missions in development. So, special thanks to the two of them and the rest of you for helping me over my first hurdle.
Now, there are a couple things I want to accomplish that I'm not quite sure how to do. First, I want to preclude Nova's 6 major storylines right from the start (this is because the plug will be a major storyline onto itself, and I want it to be mutually exclusive to the others for the same reasons the others are), but I'm not sure what bits I need to set to make sure they are not offered. I've tried looking in ResEdit, but the answer isn't clear to me. If anyone can help me figure it out, I'd appreciate it.
Second, on several occasions in Nova the player can be given an entirely new ship at the very start of a mission. Examples of this incude the Thunderforge in the Auroran storyline, and the Dart, Arrow, and Javelin in the Vell-Os storyline. I want to utilitize this so the player is assigned to a certain Federation craft near the start, but I'm not quite sure how so far.
