There's a free version of blender called blender Creator. It's not as powerfull as the full version, but for free, it aint bad.

Hi my name is Alex and I think I may be able to help.
I can model basic polygonal models quite easily but I really want to get into nurbs based modeling with splines. My modeling skills have a long way to go and my goal is to create something that looks as good as the Nova ships if not somehow better. I am finding it really difficult to think of a good original ship design, thats clever and incorporates new alien technology somehow, not an organic ship like polaris, a mechanical, futuristic,powerful and advanced looking ship that has sleek and possibly quite curvy features. Many StarTrek ships meet my ideas but I want to create something unique and not a copy. I want to create a whole race of ships around a theme... this race will not be hideously powerful, but it shall certainly not be a week race.
I present to you the chance to think up a really cool ship design and I shall try to build it. The ship must look good and have something that sets it apart from other races. The Miranu ships in evo were round shapes, the Voinians were pointy and grey, they both have obvious themes. Maybe a new alien race that all use engines bigger than the actual ships... a race that all use engines that are like hover pads sticking out from the ship. I just want a pool of ideas to work from. At least your ideas will inspire me and influence my design to be better. At best I will love your idea or part of an idea and create a string of ships incorporating this idea.

This is a very difficult thing to do so I don't expect any ground breaking ideas but that is what im hoping for... Im finding it very brain racking trying to visualize ship designs by myself and so Im hoping someone can think of designs good enough to use. I know allot of you think you have really cool ship designs so heres your chance to show them to the world. And hopefully get them made up for you.

I've been playing EV since the first one came out, and I just finally started to get into plug-ins. Here's the deal... If anyone can point me to a good source of ship and weapon design for EV Nova, when I finish I'll make the plugs available on the board. I refuse to use anything but my own! I can also make my best Pilot files available to whoever is interested...

Can anyone tell me how to convert models into the Rles? I can render them ok, but i need to know how and what to do. Like any apps that i would need to do this too.

The Dr. Ralph Nova Tools package contains a utility called EnRLE/DeRLE, for this very purpose.

Can anyone tell me how to post an image on this web board like Curt did?
I think I must of screwed up somewhere because my image didn't show up, and don't say that you have to be a registered user, because Curt is an UNregistered user and he managed to get his image on the web board and I want to do the same thing, but my image is not showing up so anyone, can you help me on this?
