I've been keeping this project fairly close to my chest for fear that I would be accused of vaporware, but now that I am fairly confident it will be finished (all that needs doing are about hald the missions and their associated VisBit systems), I am making a tentative announcement about the EV (original) plugin I am working on. I'm not giving too much away, but I need some advice on whether you think it is a good idea or not. Admittedly, it's a bit late if you don't like it...
The plugin's title is 'Intelligence'. It centers around that work of a large shipbuilding corporation to defend, explore and exploit a new region of space they have discovered. It is predominantly mission-based, but adds 12 systems, 5 ships and 4 outfits to the EV Classic universe.
This is the part I need advice on. The reason I am making this plug is so that we have another competent, well written and tested add-on plug for EV Classic. It is a niche that is actually very empty. While there are hundreds of 'adds one new system and 2 planets' plugins and a decent number of TCs, the only well-executed medium-sized addon I have ever really encountered is Clavius And Beyond.
My plugin should fulfil a similar sort of niche - playable using your existing EVC pilot file, with plenty of new ships and missions to occupy you. It is not intended to be the most original plug ever, in fact it isn't really very original at all in concept. A lot of missions that are not too hard to get your head round -do you think this type of plug would be popular? Is there demand for it?
Those of you who have known me here for a while know that I can spell (a rare commodity among plug makers ;)) and I have helped with other people's plugins a lot. As such, this project was intended for me to have a proper, completed project to my name, and one that would not make people think "Oh, Mazca. That guy who moderates the main development forum but can't make a decent plugin himself".
