I gave up on Cinema 4D. After Strata I just didnt like the interface. I am selling it to a friend and using the money to buy Strata 3D plus, and putting some money towards a car. My entry is half done at the moment. Strange for me but this one is big on texturing.
As to sizes, I would recommend 640x480 as a good size. Either that or 800*600. Also does the image just have to be of the ship? or can it be in a scene? What would be prefered?

why don't you consider about having a theme for ships or something? like Rebel/Confed or V/UE sort of ship looking themes? That could be interesting.
Hmm... does this have to be a ship? I have something really cool in mind, but it's not exactly a ship. Ever play Final Fantasy Six? Remember the Falcon, Setzer's airship? Yeah, I have this great model along those lines...Is this legal? If not, I could convert it to a spaceship, but it wouldn't be as cool.

To all who had questions regarding the category of your images: As long as they relate to planetary scenery or some type of space craft (or structure), it will work fine. I'm currently about to finish up the new graphics contest section at the SS website, and all the rules will be mentioned there. Sorry it's taken so long... I lost my connection for awhile after the excite server shut down completely. All is well now, though.

OK good. My entry is well under way. It is almost through its alpha-1 build (main fuselage complete with texturing). Only 5 more to go through before beta :rolleyes: This ship will be an odd-ball for me, I have never spent so long on the texturing, and I think I have managed to come up with something a bit special in that department.
My first entry should be in by February the 10th. Second by the 24th.

Bah, I registered all three (Glitterato, SolarCell, LunarCell) a few days after I downloaded them. 
It's always nice to have a few bucks on your hands...
Were you trying to make a background? If so, do it by hand. You're much more likely to get credit if you do it that way.
