    • Missing Planet Graphics?!

I went into EVO Dev. Map after about a week of not working on my Plug, and opened my Plug.

The Planet graphics are gone. Just wiped out! Now, I downloaded some planets/masks from a site, but did not replace the other planets with the IDs.

      Here is what I have:
      Type | Id Numbers | (/b)How Many(/b)
      Planet - 0 - None
      Land. PICs - 11001 - 1
      ----------------------------------

Now, you see, I'm missing the Planets themselves - y'know, the look they have when you are floating around them, the PICTs.
And I'm also missing all of the landing PICTs, except 11001.

Now, this only happens in EVO Dev. Map. In the game, it's all fine. But I just can't see what planet I'm adding into the game. This is really setting me back, because I don't remember ever deleting anything or nothing to cause this. It didn't happen last timeI was in it.

    • Do they show up with ResEdit? I never have use Dev. Map before.
One lesson may come out of this if they are gone- always back up. I have about 5 copies of my plug at the current moment.

    • Umm... why would they come up in RE? And where?

I have three backups, which are all screwed up.

The planets have question marks on them, and are silver.

I think I'm going to have to start over again. I hav ehad nothing but problems and all I've done is made 9 PERs and added 2 ships, plus 40+ systems and 6 new GOVTs. I can just copy/paste them into a different file, then start with the blank plug provided by EVBAE.

    • Well, here's a picture of what happeneds in EVO Dev. Map. This has only happened since I tried for the first time in 2 weeks. It just happened. Nothing I did made it happen, I don't think.

Are you sure that the copy of EVO that you're using didn't get moved or modified in some way? Dev Map requires aliases of the EVO files to be placed in the Data Files folder to work properly and it looks like it's not recognizing the EVO Graphics file.

The plug I'm currently working on has all of its Spob picts in a single file and I've seen that "question mark button" icon before when I've forgotten to stick the spobs in the Extra Data folder.

It seems like it might not be a problem with Dev Map, but rather with the associated support files. I could be way off base, but I hope this helps.

Looks that way to me, too, Jon. I think Space needs to check his graphics file(s).

    • I have the EV Data and EV Graphics files in the EVO Dev. Map folder. THey used to accept original EV files, but not no more? I haven't changed anything, but I'll replace them with some newer ones, I guess.

I have reinstalled EV since I last worked on my Plug-In; is that the reason, maybe?

(edit) That must have been it. I have it working now. Thanks for reminding me about the data files. (/edit)
