I have been interested in 3D modeling programs for a while now especially for editing Escape Velocity graphics in plug-ins I create. I heard a lot of people recommend Strata, but most of it was free so I tried downloading it. I downloaded Strata3Dbase. Unfortunately there were many features disabled that every 3D program should have. I didn't mind much at the time because I knew little about 3D and I probably wouldn't need them. But several people on the board have mentioned that there is an older version of Strata 3.0.2 that is free and does everything that my version did and more because it wasn't disabled. I found it on download.com. Unfortunately the program won't accept my newer serial number. What should I do in order to use the old Strata 3.0.2?

I downloaded it a week ago, and all I had to do was click the Register Online Button, and it took me to the old strata registration site... did they recently delete it or what? did you try to register online?

hey, I want to be in on this too.... I use Bryce 3D for ~ALL~ my ev graphics...sprites, outfits, every single aspect. maybe this is a bit odd, is it...? anyways, I'd like to know about this lovely prospect.

Same story as Lequis -- I got into this because I am a confirmed Bryce-a-holic and wanted to see what making a sprite would be like. I use Ray Nightmare 5.5 for most of my modelling, tho. And a little Amorphium, but am mostly annoyed with that program.

I've had the Strata 3.0.2 download for a while but it won't start -- I think it may be trying to log on or something. It starts a registration process then freezes. Downloaded it two more times, same result. Sigh. Could it be it won't run under OS 8.6?

Thanks for all your help! I messed around with it a little more and was able to get to the old registration page. I'm not quite sure why the page didn't work the last few tries.
