      Well, since activity has picked up here I thought I'd better tell people again.

      To get to the channel, get a programme like (url="http://"http://www.ircle.com")IRCle(/url)(mac) or (url="http://"http://www.mirc.com")mIRC(/url)(win) and set it up as follows:

      Server: irc.ambrosia.net
      Port: 6667 (not usually needed)
      Set up anything else according to your IRC clients docs.

      When connected type /join #evdev

      that's it!

      A few rules:
      1. Behave, it's a channel for development talk only. Everything else should go to #ev3
      2. Ops decisions are final.
      3. No lamerness, dont ask to be an op, dont pester ops.

      That's about it. Have fun!

      I've tried numerous times to log onto both the ev3 and development IRC channels, but I can never seem to connect. The internet acts as if they don't even exist...

      hmm...I hope people will go to #evdev this time.

      Captain: Really? Wierd, contact someone on AIM or ICQ and ask for instructions on how to log on, that's what I did and i found what I did wrong.

      Probably be a good idea. I'm thinking the problem could be because of the IRC software I'm using, however, but I've heard good things about Shadow (I forget the rest of the program's name).

      I hope #evdev catches on this time, last time anyone went there it was basically a calmer, quieter #ev3. I did, much to my amazement, find myself in some actual conversations about development occasionally, though.

      Heh, the rest of the name is simply "IRC," as in "ShadowIRC." I use it and recommend it highly. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of IRCle, but it's free (anyone who says IRCle is "free" is talking about piracy). I've heard it's faster than IRCle as well.

      hmm...i went to #evdev first time but there was no conversation just 4 people and i think 2 were mods...i'd be all for getting it up and going...just sign on every time ur on the boards and maybe we will get some people there...

      There were 10 a while ago. Its growing quite nicely, #evdev is.
