    • I think you're better get a lower end program. But you can always try to get it on hotline ----> take care not to download a full pirated version....

My 5500/250 cant handle 6. If you really want lightwave on it, look for 5.6 second hand.

Also, I've never heard of a demo...

    • Hey wait a sec ! its true. There is no demo ! Anyway. I'm happy with 6.5... (Somehow maybe I'm crazy, I'm not even professional designer ! Its just that I had 5.6 second hand from a friend and then I bought Inspire and finally, as Newtek was the only 3d creation environement I knew (and as I had a little money) I bought version 6)

Its not a demo, you need the classic version of lightwave 6.5 for the OS X version to work.
I found out the hard way: downloading the OS X version off Apple's website, only to find it didn't work because I didn't have the original LW 6.5

    • You can get LW 6.5 for OS X but you need the Hrdware dongle thinge, (basicly you need the Classic 6.5), you can't get a demo, at least I have not found one, and unless you are really gonna get into 3D graphics, I would suggest a cheaper program!

      Just a stupid comment but . . . 🙂

      I am currently using a G4 / 733 . . . with the NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX with 32 Mb VRAM . . . 2 180Gb Disks with super fast + wide SCSI . . . and . . . 1500 Mb RAM . . . yes that 1.5 Gb RAM . . . and the CINEMA DISPLAY!!! (oh yeah a T1 connection too)

honestly I think I might piss myself here . . . I get to use it for work while I do all the graphics stuff . . . 😄

the problem is now I can't go back to my computer at home

    • Hey, Squinky, are you switching to LW?
And what is this messege about your computer? Makes me wonna hit the display with a bottle of Cola I`m drinking now  😄
Are you gonna update your Infini-D manuals, by the way?

    • Have you considered any alternative 3D packages? There is a demo available for a similar app; cinema 4D XL. It has a similar feature to lightwave, but costs a bit less. Also I saw a review in Mac Format where the 2 apps were compared, and Cinema came out on top. You can download the demo at (url="http://"http://www.cinema4D.com")http://www.cinema4D.com(/url)

Errr . . . that computer is not mine, why the hell do you have a computer that powerfull? Are you a professional Graphics designer or something? We use that machine to author professional DVD's . . . its just 1.5Gb is . . .um . . . well excessively expensive and very unneeded for 99.9% of people . . .

    • On the cover CD of the july issue of 3D world magazine there is supposed to be a demo of lightwave 6.5, according to their (url="http://"http://www.3dworldmag.com/")website(/url). I don't have the magazine at the moment, but I might buy it tomorrow.
