    • EVN Project Idea

Okay, I have no idea if anybody has come up with this idea, and without the search function I can't find it, so I'll post:

I think that one of the best things that we could do, as plug developers, is make EV Classic and EVO Classic plugs for Nova. Afterwards, other plug developers, if so inclined, could convert their old plugs to Nova -- without having to put all the stock ships/outfits/descs etc. in their own plug.

So, people wanting to play Galactic Scourge in EVN would load up their EV Classic plug, followed by GS:N or something.

The reason for this would be to make a single plug that all others could use as a jump-off point. It would save the plug-converters time and effort, which could be put into using new features, adding new missions, redoing graphics that they always thought were just not right (I can't do graphics, but I write a ton, and always see room for improvement; I assume its the same).

Now, I must warn you that I am not going to do this myself -- while I could, I plan on playing Nova and working on other things, and won't have time to start a new project. If the rest of you have time and the inclination, though, I strongly encourage you to do so, as I think it will be a great boon to Nova, giving us plugs that some may not have played already, in a new Nova format.

    • I think Pheonix115 was making ports of the two original EV's last time I checked. I could be wrong though.

    • ATMOS and R&R; have implied that they're already working at something like this as a companion to R&R;'s PortAuthority software.

Yes. The point is indeed not to make a copy that works for EVN. But a version that uses the features of EVN to the maximum. Its like when you adapt a novel to cinema.

ŤNova's so exciting that even pessimists become optimist while playing it. ť
