On my system (8.6) you can just use open-apple tab to shell out to the finder. I believe OS X does not use this function, but I could be wrong as I don't use OS X.

At the bottom of your playing screen the second symbol in from the right is a question mark (?). Click once and it will show you all the controls available. To toggle back and forth from full screen to smaller window, use command F. This works in either pause or play mode.
I would suggest you make the alterations on a copy of the game you don't mind losing, because the results of changing your stats might be unpredictable, and the game may lock or crash.
I, and others, have used Pandora's Box to increase speed for the sole purpose of running through the trees to access areas not normally available. (See web post on "Hidden areas of Garendall".) If this is what you want to do, change your speed back as soon as you get through the forest, or you will be all over the place with little control. I once ran through the side of a soldier's tent in the encampment south of Fantrima and could not get back out of the tent without resorting to "force quit". These hidden areas have gold and goodies in them as well as trolls, spiders, ookwasps, kobolds, and ogres in the appropriate squares near Gewin, the herbalist.

Oh, all powerful Pandora's Box, I bow to you divine power...
There is also a plugin that will increase your attributes at the push of a button. I don't think you can increase gold, though.
