      A quick notice for all plugin developers. Strata 3D is temporarily unavailable on its website, 3D.com. Strata has split the program into three parts, base, plus, and pro. Base is to be the free version. However, base is still in the development stages. I was able to find the original version of Strata 3D on macdownload.com.

      Will base be better than the demo version they were releasing before the did this whole split thing?

      All they are saying on their website is that it will be a totally free and fully functioning program, just without the the bonus's of plus and pro.

      Demo version? Strata3d was fully functioning software.

      Reading between the lines, this is more a marketing streamlining to make it easier and more tempting to take the upgrade path from base to pro. There will probably be a handfull of improvements, based on the observation that Strata have been fairly generous at improving their free versions over the years.

      Yeah. You're probably right. Though I doubt there will be that many improvements. IMO it'll be around 1-8 improvements, though I hope I'm wrong.

      ATTENTION:

      You can now buy Strata3d Pro for $249, from Strata.

      This is supposedly an upgrade option from Vision (which was free anyway). However, I've just upgraded (my post election indulgence) and it seems to make no attempt to find out if you are already registered - in other words, you can get Strata3d Pro for about one third the regular price.
