Is Coldstone or anybody else making another plug like Trinity that adds more characters and places to go?

      Mr. Stormrider,

Coldstone is a game editor, not a person nor a company. The creators of Coldstone, Beenox, also created PoG. I have not heard any rumors that they will be making another plug-in package.

However there are several people with plug-ins in development, and in differing stages. I have 2 in the works at the moment, one closer to completion than the other. I'm also working on some development tools which will speed up my development... once I complete them, heh. I plan on releasing them when I complete them as well to help/encourage others.

However a lot of us are also waiting on Beenox to complete the update to Coldstone, as it has several bugs in it which make development difficult. Add in real life and other distractions and well, you will just need to be patient.

    • Thanks. What kind of plugs are you working on?

First plug I started was a plug-in to add Utian Village to the game. This plug-in is on indefinite hold pending the release of the update of Coldstone Game Editor because there is a bug in the map editors that has caused me to lose countless maps that I have created. I'm not willing to lose more work because of a bug, so this project is on hold.

The other PoG "playable" plug-in is a quest-oriented plug-in. I'm not going to go into any detail until it is closer to being finished. This one has only a couple of new areas as it focuses more on the quest/story(and plenty of battles). So this one I am working on full steam at the moment.

I'm also creating some development tools that I've found myself wishing I had as I've been developing these plug-ins. I'll go into more detail on what they are/how they can be used when I have more time.

Stark Bledfast and I are currently engaged in a rat race in which we try to be the first to develop, test, document, and distribute plug-ins which actually add some substance to the game. Also, I'll probably release a new version of VolumeControl soon... just as soon as I dig the source files out of my old computer. šŸ˜‰

Heh, we all need our little diversions to life. šŸ™‚

Of course, it would help if I were able to devote more than a couple hours during the week and a few on weekends to my development of plug-ins... hrmph.

With luck I should be releasing my PoG Dev Tools plug-in this weekend. Though I need to complete it first, heh. What the plug-in does is the following:

      • Comes with a .pct file to be placed in your Coldstone pictures file so that it can be opened and viewed at will. The picture is the same as the kingdom map in PoG, except that the world area names have been super-imposed upon the picture. Real handy if you need to drop a load call into Fantrima, but don't recall which map Fantrima is on and don't want to wait for PoG to boot up and then travel to Fantrima to get the debug info.

      • Comes with a new keydown event for moving around the PoG world quickly. The keydown will pull up the above map the names of the areas written on it. If you click on an area you will be teleported there instantly. Real handy when you want to look around for the coordinates to place your NPC in Fantrima and your character is stuck in Berglum. Just click and go.

      • Comes with a 2nd keydown event for those who know where they want to go and want to go there in a hurry. Similar to the above except an "Ask Dialog" is opened and you can simply type in something like, "P10" and you will be teleported there. Pretty much the same as the previous keydown event except no map will be displayed. Slightly faster but you have to know where you want to go.

      • Comes with a 3rd keydown event for those who want to jump around the current area quickly. An "Ask Dialog" will open and you can input the coordinates that you want to be at. Assuming the coordinates fit the map you are on you will be relocated to that coordinate. Helpful for when you use one of the above area-switching events and end up trapped in a boulder or in the middle of trees with no way to move. Just shift to a new spot on the map, or go to where your objects were just placed to check them out.

      • Comes with a 4th keydown event that will pull up the current area preview map sans Fog of War. Ie, just like the Eagle Eye spell except no potions/components necessary.

      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Cafall, something I just thought of. What are the keydown events for your volume control plug-in? I'd rather not make the dev tools incompatible with your volume control. Currently I'm just using ! @ # and the delete keys, but those are very easily changed.

What if a PoG player wants to use this plug-in as a cheat?

The current version uses the '+', '-', and '=' keys. In the next version it will also use Command-N.

Command-N as in New Game? I assume you're working on adding some functionality to that particular command, and not actually attempting to overwrite it. šŸ™‚

      I've already submitted VolumeControl 1.1.2, and Command-N isn't used anyway. Instead, Command-plus, Command-minus, and Command-equal are used.
