For those that don't know, I'm working on a graphical pilot file editor(PFE). Early on I decided that I wanted PFE to look similar to EVO windows. To that end, it uses graphics from the EVO data files, and will eventually load them from either data files of plugins, making PFE look similar to whatever flavor or EVO is used.
There are a few problems, however: how to graphically convey whether a system has unexplored, visited, or has been landed in? The same applies to whether a planet is dominated or not. Currently, I'm using graphics that look similar to in game map graphics: grey circle for unexplored, white for visited, and blue for landed. A green circle will be used for dominated planets.
I'm asking the community if my choices are reasonable. Even though the PFE is still alpha, I invite people to download it (http://www.rit.edu/~...f/PFE3.0/builds) to see what I'm talking about.
Related to this, I'd LOVE to have someone make cicns of the circle picts I'm using. I have no experience making cicns and doing so would mean taking time to learn, and I'd rather continue adding features to PFE. If someone's interested, please let me know.
Lastly, I need some advice about the "land" button. There isn't any button or graphic that stands for "land", and it looks very out of place. Any ideas?
