    • sound bug w/ 10.1.5

every 30 min or so while i am playing, the sound goes nuts(crackles, sounds horrible) and then pog crashes unexpectedly. This only started happening after i registered, and it does not occur in os9.
my specs: DP 533 G4, 1.1 gb ram, os 10.1.5, geforce 3 card.

      Mr. Freezer Mac,

The POG Walkthrough and Compendium has a Troubleshooting section on it, which covers the problem you are describing:

I have a dual processor and PoG crashes or has other problems
There is currently a conflict with PoG and Macs that have dual processors. Unfortunately there is no solution currently available. This is an issue the developers are aware of, and should be corrected when the next version is released. At this time there is no estimated date of release for this update.

The update that is spoken of still has not been released, but it should be fairly close. Until then the only advice is to save often so that you don't lose too much work when the game crashes, or to play in OS 9(which I've heard is a pain).

Also, since the update has not yet been released I would urge you to submit a bug report. I am fairly sure the bug you are encountering is known and has been addressed with the pending update, but just in case you should still send in a bug report so that if your bug has not been addressed it can be. To do this, send an e-mail to: help@ambrosiasw.com with an informative subject heading(something like: PoG crashes after 30 minutes of play). Include in the body of the message all your particulars, including that you are running a dual processor machine. This is the only way to guarentee that the developers will be made aware of the problem.

(edit) Edited to include information on submitting a bug report (/edit)
