    • Filling Compendium gaps

There are several characters one meets only once when touring the Kingdom of Garendall and a couple of others found in only one location. Obtaining their stats is normally difficult because of the element of surprise and the excitement of the encounter. However, by starting a new game I was determined to find out as much as I could about them. Here are the results:
The first you'll probably meet (or have met) is the thief who stole the Book of Incantations from the Druid Emelius. We never learn his name but we later learn he is the brother of Mesera. He has 5 men with him (HP=25, XP=30) who you have to fight. If you fight with him (HP=45, XP=60) you will later have to fight his stronger brother. Mesera (HP=100, XP=200) will only fight if you killed his brother. He is, however, there each time you return to his cave.
Gen. Decimus's captor is a Death Knight, but a lesser one than those found later. (HP=90, XP=1000).
Dwarf with the Runic Sword (HP=75, XP=0) is a strong fellow. Lack of experience points is more than compensated by the gift of the sword if you prevail.
Nehria Owlwood is a woman wronged, and Hell hath no fury like her to twist the quote. She (HP=125, XP=1000) also has 4 extra revenant zombies with her in the crypt in the NW corner of Ghost Swamp. These extra 4 do not appear on a return visit.
You don't kill the Dark Fairy (HP=50, XP=30) but you do fight for its capture.
Six Rogue Archmage have stolen the statue of the Ocean Goddess, Kaarlyth. Their health points seem to be the same as others of their kind but their experience points are higher (HP=55, XP=800) and they only appear once.
And lastly, a one time appearance of a Death Knight and 2 extra Ghouls when you pick up the War Axe Misery in the cave in SE Garendall. Their stats are normal for their kind.
That's all of the one-time encounters I have found. If you know of others, please post them.

Edit: Demonic Kobolds and Killer Ookwasps are also one-timers, but they are already in Stark Bledfast's excellent compendium.

2nd Edit: And of course the Darnath Cyclops - how quickly we forget!

    • Excellent.

      Thank you.
