There were a lot of name suggestions, but I think Nova was the best, and it's also to late to complain. I also think that Nova6 will be offended if you think EV Nova is a silly name.

Think of the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" theatrical releases. You had the first movie, then subsequent titles that included the name of the franchise and the title of the particular chapter: "Star Trek: Insurrection," "Star Trek: First Contact," et cetera.

You can approach the EV series in the same light...

Escape Velocity: Nova

The name scheme thus has internal logic, and a precedent to boot.

Having said that: I don't think that "ATMOS > Hornet," necessarily.
