i'm now using sourceforge.net for coordinating the project.
all our developers should register at sf.net and post their login name here. i can add them to the developers list then.
i had the server running on a win32 system today. DON'T panic we'll not release the client for Win32! only the server.
earned a lot of expirience playing with peer-to-peer networks. maybe i can use this for the game...
it looks like we are 6 (six) developers right now.

A snowboarder! Cool! I skateboard a bit, I've always wanted to try snowboarding but haven't got the cash to rent, let alone buy all the gear. My mate snowb's a bit, he's quite good, got a lot of the grabs down although he can't grab + spin at the same time yet. He's spending his holdays wizzing down undiscovered Italian tree covered mountains the lucky bastard. What kind of level boarder are you? Done any really huge tricks? (say you can Misty Flip and I'll give you my soul).

heh, talk about diversion, but now that we're on the topic, my sister and I board a bit as well. 'cept I'm currently in a place of no snow and have to make do with my skateboard, but my sister is in canada working and boardin'.
I'm going to Mexico in mid-january for a month or two but I'll hopefully be able to up a new version of Helian Wars that is networkable and may include such fun games as 'chase the escape pod' and 'rocket chicken'.
Sebek, I found this cool RB app called Talk Talk but I can't remember where. It is really useful for connecting to your own servers and also acting as servers. It can also listen to active connections. If you want it I can send you a copy.

hehe...what do you mean 'make do', no shame in skating. What tricks can you do, pro level? I'm a bit crap, the best trick I did recently was fingerflip to tailslide. I can do a tasty half-flips to caspers. I can't get the caspers to slide though, they just stop. What kind of setup have you got?

Yeah, skateboardin' ain't too bad, you just have alot more freedom with snow. I don't really get into the names of tricks, I just do 'em. For one thing I know I can fall hard, flat on my ass.
I didn't really know much about gear when I bought this but I ended up with a New Deal board, raw Tensor trucks and 57mm Pig wheels but now I know even less and wouldn't have a clue about this stuff. It rolls and I can do junk on it so I'm happy.
