    • poll:favorite class

Just wondering what people's favorite class in PoG is, and why. (I'm sitting around twiddling my thumbs with absolutley nothing to do) I guess I'll start off with mine:swordsman. The swordsman is just in my opinion the most powerful and flexible, with a high amount of HP, stat improvement and a nice guild. The ranger is nice(and great wolf claws are funnnnnnnnnn), but his potions don't quite match up. Conjurers are hard to start out with, have a difficult stronghold, and their high level spells aren't to impressive

It lies behind stars and under hills, and empty holes it fills
It comes first and follows after, ends life, kills laughter"-Golum's riddle, the hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien

    • I agree the swordsman is the best cause I rather get bloody and win than run and get killed like the conjurers. The ranger is fun new aspect to always playing the swordsman.

    • Ranger all the way, its spells can woop them undead, like poison.

    • I think it would also be fair to say that base char is a class, so if you just like the flexibility, then that would be a choice. I get the impression, that the folks around here like classes, though.

    • Definately Ranger, (like smashing multiple opponents with my cool bow.)

    • I like the Swordsman the most because I do not like being limited to the weapons I can use. (And I don't really like bows.)

    • This is interesting...Swordsman and ranger are consistantly tied. 3 to 3 so far, and no votes for conjurer. Stark, whats your's???

I suppose I'll be evening things out then... I prefer the conjurer, but I can't see much point in the differences between the classes. On the lower levels, it's nice to have the conjurer's fiery arrow and even the "enfeeble" spell, but the more powerful spells are useless!

Still, he's better than the other two...

      Stark, whats your's???

Only Trinity class I've played thus far is the Ranger character. The swordsman I do
not intend to check out any more than to run into the swordsman's guild to see what it
is like. The conjurer has piqued my interest due to everyone's complaints about the
difficulty of the class and especially the puzzles in the mage's tower. I'll have to
give 'er a shot one of these days.

As for the Ranger I prefer it over the original game(more or less the swordsman class).
I like using ranged weapons although the wolf claws are nice, and the graphics are
well done. I enjoy the wolf theme throughout the ranger class.

My only disappointment for the ranger is the Nohrga village unlimited money feature that
exists in trinity. The ability to have a limitless source of money completely unbalances
the ranger class. Sure I could ignore the feature and just not buy from norgha and sell
in gwyden camp, but commerce is an important thing in an economy and we should be able
to profit from it. Perhaps if there was not a gate stone for either norgha village nor
gwyden camp so that rangers had to do the tedious task of walking back and forth between
them(the tunnels would shorten the walk a bit) then this feature would be less tempting.

So long post concluded, my current vote would be for the ranger. But since it is the
only class I've played my vote is a little biased. You might count mine as "Ranger but
possible conjuror" because as I mentioned the conjuror class interests me and I will
take 'er for a whirl at some point.

(edit)Changed 'bug' to 'feature' in the commentary about Norhga village, because I do
think that the ability to profit was intended. The net result however I do not think
was anticipated. So I can't really state it is a bug since I believe it was deliberate.

    • I'd say my favorite class has to be the ranger. Even though he doesn't get as much hp as the swordsman, he get's to use range weapons and spells in the beginning and the wolf claws later on. As far as liking the swordsman for flexibility of weapons, i just don't get that. Who'd want to change weapons when youl already have the stronges weapon you're gonna get? And the conjurer? I just started using him. I've gotten pretty far but now I'm kinda stuck in the tower on the 3rd level. Any help would be nice...

    • Easily the Conjurer. The Swordsman seemed more like a super version of the normal charcter so I only checked out the Guild etc before ditching him (temporarily probably ;)). Went further with the Ranger, but have not beaten a Giant with him, yet. The Conjurer is just more challenging (for me). I'm quite enjoying what higher level spells I've accessed so far, too. eg Earthquake cool :).

      ------------------

    • Ranger 6 Swordsman 3 Conjurer 2,plus Stark's vote. Ranger is coming out the clear winner at the moment. It seems like it is pretty well agreed that the Conjurer is a challenging character, even with the people who like him. I wonder if Beenox would ever give up the Conjurer code in Trinity so someone could write an "conjurer-improvement" plugin...

      Conjurer.

      kill all of them.

    • Well, I've done a bit with all three and come to a fuzzy conclusion for the Ranger as my favorite. But they all have different things going for them.

Ranger: He has the best weapons, but not the best armor. I think all his potions are pretty cool, especially those for the transformations ;). I've also killed Sea Giants several times with him...but exch time I got too greedy and died trying to get another :frown:. So, anyway, Ranger is my favorite, and the only one I've completed the game with in Trinity.

Conjurer: I agree that he is the most challenging type in Trinity and also interesting to play. I hate trying to get to the tower though. I can take the enemies with the Fiery Arrow, but they always come up when the screen does its move to show the tower! Grrr! Sadly I haven't yet gotten enough Gold to buy anything good from the Tower, nor have I gotten to the higher level spells. Lastly for the Conjurer, I think the Tower puzzles are more fun than the arena, so I set the Conjurer ahead of the Swordsman.

Swordsman: While he has excellent armor and good weapons, the title for best weapons goes to Ranger. The arena is a lot of fun, though the levels don't really seem to be in a good order. There was at least one which was much easier than the previous level. So, the Swordsman is last in my estimation, even thouhg I haven't yet gotten anything good from his Guild.
Those are my two cents...or maybe its a full dollar :p.
