    • for the person who said you should be able to have capital ship bays there is another way.you could have the ship designed so other ships could latch onto your ship to create a bigger ship, but if your going up against an enemy be able to unlatch them and use them as fighters. example from ev have a ship like the rebbel destroyer but much bigger and the sides cut out now take 2 rebel destroyers and have them latch on to form a giant replica of a destroyer with increased firepower and aggregate armor and shields.and u could even add another spin to it. use the ship i just mentioned say your going against 3 of the same ships and there all connected you give the order to evacuate your escorts and then detach them and give the order to kamikazi your ods just got better

      Of course! I'll just throw Rebel Destroyers around like they were javelins. Heck, that's only another 5 million (or whatever rebel destroyers cost) to buy new ones every time I order mine to suicide. Wow! And just think how much of an explosion a Rebel Cruiser would make. Not to mention the incredible maneuverability of 3 ships hooked together like that. It would rival even the Confederate cruiser, I bet.

    • I had an idea just a second ago. for the planetary defense things like for example defense guns.
      make a ship with no accel no speed and its rotation sprites all be a crosshairs pict. then for the targeting pict have a picture of a big gun and give the thing turrets and boom when the planet spits them out at you the planet acts as a carrier andit just places them on top of the planet in a few diff places. the ending effect would be a target pic sitting on top of the planet shooting at you. boom instant planet cannon same for rocket launcher just that it rotation would be high.

      and two there should be a kamikaze command like option+F to command your fighters to do a tactical charge at you opponent emptying out its ammo and then crash into the side of the ship and depending on the ships armor and size the damage that would be done.

    • Here are some ideas for the EV3 engine, (some may have already been suggested, but I have only just got here πŸ™‚

      Space:

      1. Animated planet/station sprite graphics
      2. Moving planets (orbiting a star?)
      3. (hot) stars to run into and orbit around. We need gravity!
      4. Add space monsters! and other hazards such as blackholes.

      Ships and combat:

      a) Visible force fields that need to be turned off to shoot through
      πŸ†’ Weapon recoil
      c) Make ships collide with asteroids and take damage.
      d) Weapon ricochet and reflection off asteroids and other space objects.
      e) Beam reflection off shields.
      f) Final resort auto-destruct for ships.
      g) Combat scaling system like Ares πŸ™‚
      h) A ship rating system, perhaps as a separate tool t hepl developers create fair ships prices and combat power. This will help when multiple plugins form different developers are used in the one game and prevent unbabalnced games.

      General
      i) Allow the player to set up a base somewhere to store excess cargo and spare ships etc.
      ii) A combat area game mode where you can set up a specific battle and try ships out against computer controlled ones.
