Ok. This is turning into to much of a hassle.

I'll start off on what I think we should do.
Obviously different chat protocols are stupid so I think I just might make one just for us. It'll just have the usual chat and also file transfers. Sound good?

Only problem, I'm currently doing all my exams and assignments. So unless someone is going to volunteer to do them for me I won't be able to do anything until the 28th. I think that's 2 weeks.

If someone else wants to make the chat program that would be good. Otherwise I can do it.

I should be still able to make a windows build. All I have to do is convert the picts to bmp's and the sounds to wav's. Why can't there be standards?

Protocol, protocol, protocol. There really is no protocol when you think about it. What does TCP/IP really do anyway. No replies on that last statement. What's going to happen is everyone gets on the internet. Then you type in an IP address and it connects to that address. I make up a little Helian Wars/EV Arena protocol like:

Server:hello
client:hello <name>
server:begin

etc, etc. Very simple.

And we also need more Irish. Cause Irish are the best people of all.

Does everyone like Rage Against the Machine? Good.

do u want people to volunteer to do the chat and file transfer protocalls, or your exams and assignments? what subject?

Oh and for the TCP/IP thing just make a plug for gameranger (if u can) and distribute it privately.

I've finished my tests ages ago so I'll be able to beta whenever before 11:55pm GTM

Screen does not refresh after a new game

Explosion sound is too overdone (well, i think so)

Fighters are prone to explode after a while of shooting the laser (especially the blue one)

Explosion is simaltaneus (grammer.....)

You can still move around and fire (in an invisible ship) aftter you have died for a period of about 6 seconds

The explosion graphic has the same rules applied as the ship graphic (you can be covered up by the explosion

There is a build at the moment but it might not work, hence the testing. I don't know how to make a gameranger plug so I can't do that but if your volunteering be my guest.

I've made an icon and it's pasted onto the ReadMe I sent you Tycho.

I can't do much programming besides simple RealBasic but I'll handle most of the Beta-testing.

Better yet, anyone have something better than a 56k modem with a static, dedicated IP that can host the 900k server application? It uses almost 0 bandwidth and we'd only need it at specific times.

HI! I'm back. Nobody noticed i was gone and noone cares right?

anyway i've been gond for 3 days and i think a public/semi-public beta
would be a BAD idea. During the 3 days i was gone this thread grew from something
like 8 posts to 38 posts!. There would be TOO many people. Of course if you have
more people you could get better feedback. so how about using the idea that i said in an
earlier post. just get a group of people and split them into teams.
You could be in one team taht has a group of guys(like Whamman) that could help you
with development and the other groups would provide feedback.
