I need some ship names for a plug i'm making.
right now i need words that mean something like
wanderer
without origin
etc.

Some one made a good suggestion a while back. Get a thesaurus and look up synonyms for words like War, seaching, exploring, death, killer, trader etc.

One of the best i've come up with to create ideas of any type is to sit in a dark room, with music playing (that varies a lot, the same kind of stuff over and over doesn't work.), and close you eyes. Just right down or draw whatever comes into your head. You might not need the music, but I like to let it influence my creativity. Also, you might try music that won't make you laugh as that seems to distract the mind from doing it own work.

You could use "Fliegende Hollander" instead of "Flying Dutchman"
Otherwise sometimes skimming through a dictionary might help. I use a sort of technique with the music in the darkness (try it for creative writing too). For ship names I like using first or last names of people.
